I'm sorry to hear that your partner has recently been diagnosed with cancer. I'm sure that it's been a difficult time for you both but it's good that your partner is keeping positive about things at the moment. 

We do have some information about radiotherapy on our website here which may be helpful for you ahead of meeting with the Consultant next week. I'm sure that you have some questions that you want to ask. I know that some of our members here have found it helpful to write those down before going to see the Dr. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed by things and then forget what you want to ask.

Hello

I've just read your post and want to reach out to you as I have an idea of what you are going through. My husband was diagnosed with stage 3/4 lung cancer on 23rd December. The doctors think its spread to a lymph node but not absolutely sure. They have told us the lung cancer is inoperable and without treatment he would have 12 months. He has decided to have radiotherapy only as he decided the risks to him of chemo are too high due to previous health problems. We have been married 32 years. I thought we would have many more years together but now I just dont know. Like your husband, my husband is also being incredibly positive and I feel bad when I have moments of weakness when I fear I may lose him. He is having 4 weeks of radical radiotherapy starting on 27th January. I am scared for him. I hope your husband gets some treatment while will give him more time ...I will be thinking of you.

im so sorry to hear about your husband and hope the radiotherapy is a success and helps make him more comfortable, I am a great believer in hope and you just need to not get ahead of urself in ur mind about the "ifs" and " buts" you just have to try remain positive even if Losing ur mind inside I know how incredibly hard that is believe me .i have a good cry and let it all out when I'm on my own Cz I need to be strong around him as seeing me upset will just make him worry . We are only stil coming to terms with it as only found out last Thursday never suspected be cancer , he only had a sore neck. We go for biopsy results next Thursday so can decide on what treatment is best . 

Just take each day at a time and fingers crossed with the radiotherapy .

I will take your advice on board and try remain positive. He had another biopsy today as they didn't get enough tissue last time so we go next Thursday for results and discuss treatment .

we first got told radiotherapy and now today while having biopsy he told us maybe chemo so just confused at moment X 

just have to wait til next Thursday now .
