Cant quite believe I find myself writing this but after a few days of reading your posts and finding useful information and at times reassurance, I've decided to join. After a visit to A & E back in August and getting a diagnosis of Pleuricy followed by 2 courses of anti biotics, then 2nd xray on 13th November which started alarm bells ringing. GP phoned the day after xray to say he wanted hubby to have a CT scan 4 days later. The following day after CT, he phoned to say a mass had been found and was making a referral to a Consultant. The appointment came through within 5 days for the following Monday. Consultant confirmed our worst fears - a 5cm tumour on right lung. He arranged a biopsy and PET scan which both happened within 9 days. The only issue was a nasty full body itchy rash after the PET scan which lasted 6 days. Yesterday we got a call with an appointment for Monday to get the results. Trying to remain positive but I'm terrified. Hubby is really quite cheerful and being an absolute trooper. Sorry for the long bio.
