Hi, I’m in need of some advice
My mother was admitted to hospital 7 weeks ago with acute pains in her leg which was diagnosed as secondary cancer in the bone in her femur and shin - the primary cancer is yet to be identified.
whilst in hospital she broke her hip (another story) and the surgery and management for this has taken priority.
my frustration is that no one is talking to either my father or myself about what the primary cancer is and what the prognosis is or what the plan of action is in terms of treatment.
we have asked for updates etc, but keep being told about the progress and healing of the leg, but appear to be avoiding the elephant in the room.
we haven’t seen or spoken to an oncologist since the initial diagnosis - we feel like we’re being avoided.
who should we be asking to speak to, and are we being unreasonable wanting answers, as my mother is now entering her 8th week in hospital?
