Endometrial cancer

Hello everyone - world turned upside down with a diagnosis of cancer in womb yesterday. Only went to see GP a week ago about water infection and scan yesterday revealed otherwise. Op arranged in 10 days time so all happening incredibly fast and I’m a bit she’ll shocked and I know I haven’t listened properly to GP etc about what is going to happen so I’m consulting Dr Google which is a stupid thing to do. If anyone has had endometrial cancer post menopause I would appreciate any information especially if it is known to spread. Thank you

  • Hi Marth, I wish I could help but I'm really not sure but I do know that atrophy of the womb/vagina is common in post menopusal women due to hormone changes and these changes can also affect thickness of womb lining.  Hope you get an appointment soon. x

  • Same one I'm on too, I think I will have to stop them before they do the hysterectomy, wishing you the best hopefully you will get the information to answer your questions, your pain sounds similar to what I'm now getting, is it possible that an infection got into where they removed the polp?  I would not have a clue about my womb thinkness its never being checked to my knowledge,

  • Hi I've had to stop mine 2 week prior surgery before but never stopped them during tooth removal and I was fine no excess bleeding etc should only be on it for a year post surgery  but my consultant decided to keep me on it indefinitely due to them helping my migraines been on it 10 yr now no problems and regards the polyp removal anything is possible with my hospital wishing you well with the hysterectomy and that things get back to normal quickly regards covid x

  • hi

tks for replying to my story

it must be so very worrying for you not being able to have the surgeries you require due to covid restrictions.

I hope you have faith & trust in you gynae team - i was very fortunate and trusted all my carers / team completely, even now if i have an issue  , 12 months on, i am able to contact them with any concern and they can  advise from there.  Obvioulsy face-to face appts may become much easier  to do with visits etc wearing PPE to go to appts etc - so hope this will ensure you get to see the specialist sooner.

    thinking of you

  • Hi , sorry to be a bit of a pain but I'm going out my mind here regards  last post where transvaginal found a 12.5mm thickening my gp did a advice and guidance referal with the consultant that i seen back in Dec who diagnosed atrophic womb after hysteroscopy consultant as got back to gp and he wants to see me urgently the pains I'm experiencing are chronic soreness and pain over my left pelvic bone which can then shift to a dull heaviness almost like a water infection x 10 (I've had water tests no infection ) I get like little electric shock type prickles over pelvic area with a watery clear discharge almost as if water are breaking I also have a feeling of trapped wind in the womb area which I know it's not ive taken that many wind tablets and ibs pills to be sure but my question is can I ask what your symtoms are and should I be worried and I dont mind straightness I would sooner be told straight I hate the waiting game

  • I was diagnosed with womb cancer on 14 Feb. I need a total hysterectomy. My surgery has been cancelled 5 times due to covid. I know I'm high risk and need an ITU bed after surgery  but told there all still for covid patients. I wondered what part of the country you are in to be having surgery so quickly. I'm so angry fed up and scared. Apparently it is very slow growing which is a good thing as I've waited so long. I hope your op goes well and your soon back on your feet xxx

  • Hi I'm going through same symptoms did you find out your results yet worried sick x

  • I was diagnosed with womb cancer on 14 Feb. My operation has been cancelled 5 times. Because I have other health issues I need an ITU bed after surgery and because of covid they didn't have any.  My stress levels are through the roof. I'm now told if my blood sugars improve in the next 3 weeks I might get my op in August. I'm petrified about surgery had bad experience years ago. The waiting is like torture. Good luck to you all in your journeys xx

  • Hi Kerry , no results yet went to see consultant last week which didn't go well he never examined me just said oh well you could have another polyp which is making you bleed I explained I'm not bleeding just very runny watery discharge and chronic pain hes booked me in for another hysteroscopy in 2 week under general anesthesia just to check thickness I just hope they biopsy this time my ca125 came back normal but cea was raised so got to have a repeat blood test in 5 week and it's awful the worry I feel for you and we know our bodies and when something isnt right just be good to know what's wrong that's half the battle x
