I was in the same boat as you, the radiologist was able to confidently tell me I had cancer (at least stage 2 at that point) without needing the biopsy results.  The biopsy results were then more a formality and for staging as they showed it had definitely already spread and so was stage 3b (as the radiologist said he expected).  In the end they didn't biopsy my right breast but they did 4 different scans on it before deciding they were happy that the lumps in it weren't cancerous.  Sometimes they can tell from the look on different scans, other times they need the biopsy to confirm.

It is frightening, upsetting, and all sorts of things go through your head at this time.  So many people on this forum have also been there, and I hope you find their support as invaluable as I have.  We've all had that worry and know how it robs you each day.  My only advice in that regard is that the waits are by far the worst.  Once you get into your treatment regime life becomes a bit more procedural and at least you know what is happening.  So, distract yourself with plans if you can, preferably plans that require your focus to see them through.

Thankfully it does all end up passing quickly.  When I first heard what my chemo regime was it seemed like a long, long spell of treatment, yet here I am with just one chemo to go and it feels like just yesterday I was diagnosed.  I still have other treatment including surgery to come but chemo was, for me, the great unknown.

Another plus is that treatment is still improving year on year, my mum has had very aggressive breast cancer twice now and has reached her 70s the fittest she's been since her 20s.

I won't say don't worry, but DO try and distract yourself (and get friends and family to help you if you want).  Whatever the outcome we are all here for you.

Hi hun just wanted to drop by to ask how u are doing today. Everything u are feeling is normal and what we breast ladies have all been through. Chrissie is spot on with her advice live in the here and now. Stop the what ifs, could haves nd should haves .... they are negative thoughts and what you need are positive ones. 

I too was told at ultrasound and biopsy that they were very confident to say we were looking at a cancer diagnosis. 2 lumps were spotted ( both in right breast both cancerous). I went on to have an MRI scan to check other breast. No new lumps detected.

what they are quite rightly doing is checking everything they need to to make sure you are given the best treatment you need. This is normal procedure. Your treatment will b tailored to your needs..... just need to identify your needs first....it’s scary but also very reassuring. 

Your mind will b tail chasing bless. It’s hard to believe but once all the test are done and you know your action plan... you will begin feel better. The waiting is always the worst if feels forever then suddenly it’s here. 

So chin up lass... look this in the eye nd stare it down... you are stronger than u think and can do this. Remember you are not alone we are here when you need us . ️
