My mum had DCIS back in the late 80s (with no info to indicate otherwise I'm guessing this is your diagnosis?)  She had a lumpectomy followed by radiotherapy.

She actually recovered very quickly from the lumpectomy itself and would have been back at work within 5 days had they not temporarily killed her by giving her penicillin :D It wasn't funny then but we can laugh about it now, I mean it was the hospital where she was then a theatre nurse and her notes screamed "allergic to penicillin", as well as her repeating it to everyone involved in her care!

If you're seeing your surgeon on Thursday does that mean all your 'staging scans' have been done?
