Hello GSS,
having read your previous posts l think the lesion on your Liver has spread from your bowel rather than Liver cancer. l had similar 12 years ago, again with no symptoms.
You need to ascertain its position, is it operable and will surgery be an option
l had 60% of my liver excised, within a year you would never know, the remaining healthy tissue will grow/expand to compensate for the loss.
l hope the news is better than you currently fear and that Tuesday will answer all those terrible doubts that currently trouble you,
David
Hi David thanks for your reply. I have had colonoscopy which is clear and shows no sign of cancer. I had chest ct scan Thursday to see if the cancer has spread from this area. I really dont hold out any hope as the tumour is so large. My daughter and grandson are coming over on prearranged visit from Australia next month and I am in bits.
Hello GSS,
thank you for explaining more fully, l can now appreciate your understandable distress.Given the circumstances my best advice would if possible go accompanied because l am in little doubt that a lot of what is said will pass over your head, equally a lot of what should have been asked will be left unsaid.
If it is possible to record the conversation, this might be a good idea, providing your consultant agree's,failing that writing down bullet pointsalong the way may help in recalling what is said in hindsight.
l hope your consultation goes better on tuesday than you currently expect, and there is some light penetrating through your darkness of gloom,
David
Thanks
My husband will be with me.
Find out about clinical trisks and options for treatment. You can do this. Make a list of questions to ask on Tuesday at the appointment in question. Good luck. Discuss surgeries and healthy life styles.
