You can find out more about advanced colorectal cancer and what treatment options may be available to your husband on our website but if either of you would like to talk things through with one of our cancer nurses after you've seen his consultant today, you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very knowledgeable and will do all they can to answer your questions and support you at this very challenging time.

Hi thank you so much for taking the time to reply to my post.

We are currently sat in sau in the hospital. Daryl saw consultant today he's sent him into hospital to have a stoma bag fitted hopefully tomorrow or Thursday. 

Consultant has said once he's recovered from surgery he can have chemo/radiotherapy this won't cure him but hopefully keep cancer at bay

I'm praying he can tolerate the chemo

Hi Kim,  how did Daryl get on with his stoma?  I think he will tolerate chemo, there are tablets for all the side effects and if it does become too much they can reduce his dose or change to different chemo regime.  I have incurable cancer and having palliative treatment and hopefully it keeps the cancer under control.  My last scan two weeks ago says cancer is stable so that is a bonus.  There are so many treatments and trials these days.  Even hoping to go to Portugal in September.  Take care and sending hugs.  One day at a time.

Hiya he's still in hospital waiting to have it done. It was supposed to be yesterday but had to cancel him . We are praying its today. He needs this done so he can start his chemo. I work for the NHS and in theatres and in the hospital he's in its so frustrating. No perks for staff .
