Has anyone used modified citrus pectin (MCP) as a complementary medicine alongside hormone therapy for prostate cancer? I’m on the latter & wanted to ensure it won’t interfere with the hormone treatment. Thanks.

Hi Fletch, and welcome, I don't use it myself, but like to research and have heard of the potential benefits it offers people with prostate cancer, especially those having a recurrence, and have been considering taking it, I too am on HT, but with bladder issues which I don't want to irritate, so a little reluctant, I did talk about it wit my CNS, who was ok with me taking it, but couldn't say how it may affect the waterworks, as we are all different my friend, the best people to ask are your medical team.

Hello Fletch59
We have some information about modified citrus pectin (MCP) on our website that you might find useful.
If you decide this is something you want to try, then we'd encourage you to let your specialist nurse or consultant know so that they are aware you are using complementary medicine alongside your hormone therapy.
If you want to chat things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040.
Best wishes,
