Hi
i I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in November , it is stage 2 a/b . I have had the combined chemo ,carboplatin and paclitaxel for first six weeks once a week. . I wore cold cap so l kept my hair . It’s a worry when on chemo of sickness and nausea but was given plenty of meds to keep it at bay .i then finished that and went on to chemo radiotherapy . This was 5 weeks of daily rads and weekly chemo of cisplatin . My bloods were so shot that I only managed 2 chemos . I then finished with 3 doses of brachytherapy . This was my treatment plan which I understand is the norm . I have stated all this because if you have any questions etc or any help or advise I can give please ask . Kind regards val
Sorry to hijack this post but could I possibly ask what your symptoms were Grannyv before/as you got diagnosed? I hope you’re recovering ok x
Hi
Prior to my diagnosis I had been suffering from uti quite a lot and when I noticed bleeding I thought it was from uti . I was also prescribed vaginal pessary as being an older lady was told things get dry in vagina etc . So stupidly I didn’t think the bleeding was serious ( it was very intermittent) . It got worse so went to see gp who then put me in the 2 week hospital visit . I had had no pain and about 8 yrs previous I had same symptoms which turned out to be harmless polyps . I was told at my first hospital visit it was likely to be cervical cancer . I was then sent for more tests ct scan and mri . It all happened quickly and I started treatment within a couple weeks .
I am doing ok Thankyou
