Cervical Cancer

I’ve just been diagnosed with stage “1B3” cervical cancer - they’ve said it’s localised but can’t operate and are going to hit it with chemo and radiation

I’ve got stupid questions… is my hair going to fall out, what’s my chances of it being treated, when should I tell my employer and can I still work/be around others while going through chemo?

I’ve an oncology appointment tomorrow so will ask these (not in that order)

  • Welcome to the forum KayleighT, although I'm sorry to hear you've been diagnosed with cervical cancer.

I hope you were able to get all your questions answered at your oncology appointment the other day, but if you'd like to discuss any of this further with one of our cancer nurses they're available on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday (except Bank Holidays) between 9a.m - 5p.m and they will do all they can to support you and address any other queries or concerns you may have playing on your mind at the moment.

Our members know just how scary and overwhelming it can be to find out you have cancer, so you are not alone KayleighT, and I'm sure some of them will stop by soon to offer their support and advice.

We're here for your Kayleigh and we will do all we can to support you on this journey.

    Kind regards,
