Hi Jay, so sorry to hear what you and your wife are going through.  When I had chemo I lost all my hair, which leaves the scalp feeling a bit sensitive, so I started using "CHILDS FARM SHAMPOO" which you can buy from Amazon.  It is a very mild and gentle shampoo and I found it ideal.  Also, Amazon do a really nice range of head scarves and hats, specifically designed for folks who have lost their hair to chemo.  I bought a wig, but I found it hot and itchy, and I stopped wearing it and stuck with the scarves and hats.  Good luck to both  you and your wife on this journey, I wish you all the best. 

Hi Jay ... sorry to read your wife has been given a diagnosis of breast cancer  ... but huge hugs to you for reaching out for advice.

I was diagnosed 8 wks ago and so far have had 2 of 6 chemo treatments .... withing 10 days of the first chemo my hair began to fall out and scalp became very sensitive so i too like Blue-girl suggested use a baby friendly shampoo at first but now i have only stubble left so use a good moisturiser for the bald areas. 

On new years eve i took control of what seemed the only thing i could control ... and shaved my head ... since then have a fast growing selection of scarfs/ hats
