I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of tonsil cancer. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious ahead of treatment starting tomorrow. 

I wanted to post to let you know that we have had quite a number of members here on the forum who have posted to share their experiences of radiotherapy. I'd suggest reading through some of the posts on this thread. I'm also going to tag in a member called RadioactiveRaz aka Hazel who has shared her experience, advice, and tips for coping with lots of members through a blog that she wrote during and after her treatment. I know that many people have found this helpful. I'm sure that if you reply to some of the posts on the thread I've linked you'll be able to connect with others who have been through this treatment. 

I know from the many posts that I've read here on the forum that the next few months will most likely be quite difficult for you. Please know that the Cancer Chat community is here for you and will offer any advice and support that we can to help you through this.

Hi Jen  I’m Hazel aka radioactive raz. 6 years post radiotherapy and chemotherapy for right side tonsil cancer hpv 16 positive with 7 affected lymph nodes. I can’t lie treatment is brutal and recoveeey can be challenging simply because it affects our delicate mouth and throats. But I’m s wimp and  I did it. My blog link below might hroll any questions ask. Trust your team they do this every day remember. Glad you recovered from lymphoma.

Hi Hazel, thank you so much for posting; I really appreciate your reply. Mine is right-sided and HPV positive too. I’ll have a read of your blog too( I’m sure that wasn’t easy to write but must’ve helped so many people. I have a great team (clinically) and wonderful family and friends so  sure I’ll get through it but can’t help fearing what’s to come. I think I tend to worry about others too; I don’t want them to have to watch me go though what’s to come but it can’t be avoided! Thanks again for your reply.

Hi Jen it’s doable it’s not pleasant but bests the alternative always shoot to help a fellow cancer patient. You’ll get there we all do it’s baby steps where in the country are you
