After 10 weeks in Spain returned 13 May 2018 ,biked 1101 Kms thought I had a pull in my shoulder bit if neck pain but nothing else.Apart from what I thought was maybe a swollen gland ,no weight loss ,no night sweats no sore throat no nothing .Am 61 year old Whi really thinks she is still 18 in the head. stopped smoking February 2003 after a bad case if tonsillitis which turned into quinsies. Practically stopped drinking alcohol 2009 ,if I have had 5 units this year of alcohol I have done well.
Remember our daughter son in law and grandson visiting us over Easter and one day at tea time whilst away.
I stood up and apologised for not feeling well ,they all looked up at me and said eh yiou are fine we had it noticed a thing.
Anyway flash forward went to Drs 14 May marvellous what saying 61 and lump in neck can do appointment same day ,put in 14 day cancer pathway told not too worry.
First consult meet needle biopsy done and asked had I been in contact with anyone with TB !!! ummm No.so spent a week thinking latent TB ,knew something was wrong when following week the nurse came straight over to me and said Mrs C is having a third review if cytology slides ,radar went into overdrive ,poor hubby sat at side was still in blissful ignorance but my cancer radar kicked in.
Lo and behold clinic delayed 40 mins then in I went and the dreaded words squamous cancer cells ..then she said maybe should have done last week camera up nose. Said 2options we can numb it and wait or just go for it so go for it we did . Thought she saw something mid line tongue area. From there whisked to pre med blood test done by local butcher bruises galore !
Lovely pre med nurse said the kind words at least you aren’t a stick insect !!! After reading this forum and Vatch s blog now know why .
CT scan sone on lungs all clear wow , MRI done that was pretty scary will reveal tips for that later.
Biopsy done Tuesday great consultant went through everything in mri and said right tonsil thinkin T2N1 no spread that he could see.
Bought a NutriBullet and at main cancer hospital Monday with husband John and daughter in tow.
