Hi.just been diagnosed with Bowel cancer, quite a large tumour in ascending colon thats broke through the wall, small spots on lungs and pelvis ( pet scan soon to check) also possible peritoneal disease, feeling reaĺly worried and scared.
if you dn t mind me asking how did it all start,id been having stomach cramps for a while ended up in a+e a couple of times,went to doctors was asked to do a fit test which came back positive so sent for a colonoscopy,we're they found the tumour,had a endoscopy at same time but that was ok,plus had loads of blood tests done and they all came back ok apart from I'm slightly anemic
Virtually the same, stomach cramps for 3 months, change in bowel habits for 6 months so was given a fit test which came back positive, appointments came through quickly but I had trouble keeping down the bowel prep so had 2 abandoned colonoscopy due to unclear bowel. 3rd successful one where they saw the tumour. My consultant said it’s probably been there 12 - 18 months which is a bit scary to think what it could have done in that time.
Morning Kathy,I see yr a early morning person just like myself, the hospital put mine down to Divertics so I spent a few weeks changing my diet I have lost some weight but put that down to not eating as much and cutting certain foods out.im still getting a slight twinge on my right side but since the consultant told me to follow a low fibre diet it's been much better.
Morning Sylvia I was never an early riser till I got this diagnosis but there’s always too much going round in my head these days. Have they told you why they are not operating first to get it out and treatment after?
To be perfectly honest I didn't take it all in ,my husband was with me but we were both in a bit of a shock I'm going to see what happens after the pet scan.
