Hi Maud, sorry to hear youre having to deal with this. Im newly diagnosed too due to have operation next week. Very scared but staying positive because of all the positive stories i have read, sending love and hugs and here if you need to offload

Hi Kathy,I'm about the same ,had a colonoscopy and they found something so sent for a CT scan where they found quite a large tumour unfortunately I've got to have a pet scan first to check it's not read anywhere, couple of nodules on my lungs that need looking at,Hopefully they've caught yours early,and you won't need anymore treatment after it's been removed,sending lots of love and best wish  

Have you got a date to have it removed ? 

No it depends on the pet scan and it's looking likely I'l be having chemo first to try and shrink it. Feeling really worried at the minute 

Fingers crossed for good pet scan results, I never knew what scan anxiety was until now x

Oh god me neither,have you ever had a pet scan ?

No I had a ct scan with contrast dye, it makes me wonder how they decide which type of scan to use? 

I just hate all this waiting around for results I just want to get started on treatment 

if you dn t mind me asking how did it all start,id been having stomach cramps for a while ended up in a+e a couple of times,went to doctors was asked to do a fit test which came back positive so sent for a colonoscopy,we're they found the tumour,had a endoscopy at same time but that was ok,plus had loads of blood tests done and they all came back ok apart from I'm slightly anemic

Virtually the same, stomach cramps for 3 months, change in bowel habits for 6 months so was given a fit test which came back positive, appointments came through quickly but I had trouble keeping down the bowel prep so had 2 abandoned colonoscopy due to unclear bowel. 3rd successful one where they saw the tumour. My consultant said it’s probably been there 12 - 18 months which is a bit scary to think what it could have done in that time. 

Morning Kathy,I see yr a early morning person just like myself, the hospital put mine down to Divertics so I spent a few weeks changing my diet I have lost some weight but put that down to not eating as much and cutting certain foods out.im still getting a slight twinge on my right side but since the consultant told me to follow a low fibre diet it's been much better.

Morning Sylvia I was never an early riser till I got this diagnosis but there’s always too much going round in my head these days. 
Have they told you why they are not operating first to get it out and treatment after? 

To be perfectly honest I didn't take it all in ,my husband was with me but we were both in a bit of a shock I'm going to see what happens after the pet scan.

Hi Sylvia what type of scan have you already had that showed it had broke through the wall and the spots on your lung and pelvis ? x

Ct scan, the pet scan is more detailed and shows all cancer spots up.

Hi Sylvia just hopping on to say I’m back in the land of the living. The operation went well and they seem happy with the join. The after pain was not as bad as I anticipated (morphine was good) and am now back home after only 4 days in hospital. I hope this gives you a bit of comfort when it’s time for your surgery. Hugs x
