Hi Denis, welcome to this forum. You poor thing, it must be so worrying for you to have such a long delay since your diagnosis. My heart goes out to you and I'm sending lots of love and positive vibes your way. All I can think is that all the additional tests and scans are needed for your consultant to make the best informed decision regarding your treatment. I'm sure you have tried to hurry things along. I was lucky as once I had my diagnosis of breast cancer things moved very quickly for me with surgery just 12 days later followed in quick succession by chemo, radiotherapy and since then, drugs. I remember being so anxious for those 12 days. The operation couldn't come fast enough but it was only 12 days. It sounds as if your case is more complicated than mine, hence the additional scans and subsequent delays. Try and keep positive, easier said than done I know. Keep yourself occupied and trust that the doctors know what they are doing.

I have not heard anything but I think you're right possibly just a case of getting the best possible outcome etc 

I get scared sometimes and occasionally cry but as each day goes by I become less attached and have almost moved on from shock to acceptance and I'm getting on with my life.

The only thing thascares me more than loosing the fight is loosing my amazing partner and my wee boy .

However if I spent all day thinking about that it would drive me nuts.

Im so glad you got a quick response and I hope you and your family and friends are enjoying having the opportunity to enjoy life it's so precious and it can also be so cruel but if can learn to smile more and pay it forward we are able to get through anything.

Denis have you been in contact with your GP recently to ask if they have any updates that's what I would be doing maybe they could hurry things along ,it seems an awfully long time to wait .I hope you get sorted out asap .

I have just read your post and I'm horrified you have been waiting so long. You sound like a nice guy but please do not rely on things happening spontaneously. Do you have a Macmillan nurse? If not, please give them a call and see if someone can take this up for you. There could be an explanation why your treatment hasn't started but you need to hear it.

Hi Dennis l would contact the colorectal secretary and explain your concerns, they have been a great help. They can ask the consultant questions for you, they have done this for me and rung me back the next day. 
macmillan nurses or the hospital colorectal specialist nurse may also be of help.  Your GP may already have been informed of your progress and be able to update you. I call  the surgery. 
l hope you have an appointment soon.
