I had a grade 3 tumour removed along with sentinel nodes in March 2021. I had 6 cycles of doxetaxal and carboplatin through that summer then radiotherapy early October. Was on letrozole for 3 months with awful side effects then switched to anastrozole. The side effects got even worse so I tried Examestane. After stopping that because of the awful pain in my left hand I saw a specialist about it and found it wasn't the drugs causing the pain so after a 5 month break I'm starting the Examestane again. It's 2 years this month since my diagnosis and I am still suffering with the lingering effects of the chemotherapy which is difficult when I just want to get back to where I was before the cancer diagnosis. There is a silver lining to the dark cancer cloud insofar as I have met some lovely people who I would never have met otherwise and have made some amazing new friends including on this forum. To anyone reading this I would say take one day at a time and try to look for the positives each day. Cancer is tough, really brutal at times but if I can get through it anyone can!
