Treatment dilemma

Hi friends,

I wanted to see if someone was in a similar situation as me and maybe offer some help.

I have two nodules in my right lobe of the thyroid measuring 1.6 & 2 cm without any enlarged lymph nodes. After four biopsies the nodules were labelled as THY-3F.  Now I am in a dilemma whether to choose lobectomy or total thyroidectomy for my surgery. Both procedures have their advantages and disadvantages.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks!

  • Thank you. Pretty sure it's lobectomy. It was a telephone appointment and as soon as he said surgery I was like yes please. I think my core biopsy was equivalent of thy3f. I feel it's going to be a long 3 months. I find it strange I was on the 2 week referral but now it's come to the surgery they said I'm not a suspected cancer patient and so you have to wait the 90 days. Fingers crossed that's true though and I don't have it
