Been told I have breast cancer

I'm currently waiting for my biopsy results and I'm so so scared. My children are teenage girls studying GCSE AND A LEVELS and are so upset about what's going to happen to me. My consultant said it's definitely cancer and we have to wait until next Friday to see what the treatment plan is going to be and I'm so scared I'm going to die and not be her for my girls .

  • @Leanne.T and [@agapanthus]‍ my heart goes out to both of you, I was diagnosed with breast cancer right at the beginning of covid, reading your posts takes me right back to the feeling of being completely out of control and thinking I was going to die. I too am the mother of 2 teenagers and was terrified for them, though my youngest was blissfully unaware as I only told him after it was over. I am now 22 months cancer free after a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. This period in your journey is the worst and like everyone else says once you know which type you have (before it happened to me I didn't know there were different types!!) and how they are going to treat it you have a bit more of an acceptance. Don't get me wrong the fear factor doesn't really subside until you fall out the other side. I am wishing you both all the best and have trust in the breast care team, they are brilliant.

    Sending big hugs xx
