My Journey Continues

Hi all my forum buddies.  Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began.  Hope to see you here. Jules

  • Thanks Hazel, it has been a worrying few months but hopefully things looking up now.

Hope whatever you take to help that nasty cold it will soon be gone.  Look after yourself.  Jules xx

  • Hi Sue, hope you are getting these replies or is your laptop out on the rubbish heap?

Thanks for thinking of me, might take your advice later and have the hot toddy.

Take care, sending a hug,  Hazel xx

  • Evening Diane, glad you managed to beat the deluge and got home dry, and nice to see your sister is doing so well, good for her.  (It is nice when you get in just before the rain starts, isn't it?  I always look at it and say, 'hah, missed me this time!)

Hope you have a nice evening, and enjoy your steak pie.

    Hazel xx

  • Happy July everyone (a pinch and a punch etc) Where did the first six months of this year go??

My laptop is behaving again for now... blooming technology! Ooh, that was spooky, just as I typed the word technology, the lamp by my desk flickered and went out. Just a blown bulb but interesting timing!

Brilliant news for your daugther Jules, what a huge relief for all of you.

Hazel, hope the hot toddies are working and that the cold is soon vanquished. Summer colds always feel worse somehow and this one has really got a bite to it.

Talking of teeth, hope you are back to your usual nutty self soon Brian, loved your squirrel magic. Must have been lovely to watch.

    Take care all,   Sue xx

  • Hi Jules the weather today is grey so don't know if I will be stepping out side think I will just be in my garden. I was the same Jules I didn't know High blood pressure can appear from menopause but I was told by the doctor it can happen and many people get it. I stopped getting the flushes etc when I was 66 thought it would never end I took them quite badly.

I have invited my sister round for dinner tonight and to watch celebrity master chef which is her favourite I quite like it my self.

Wow Jules he's big wouldn't see that on my area don't think. He's got some legs on him doesn't get ha ha. Take care -Diane x

  • Hi Hazel so glad I missed the rain yesterday always hate getting caught in it some times im glad I have the car so I don't have to get soaked.

My steak pie was lovely. I don't like to brag but i think I my self great home made foods though I did all the cooking my hubby would check up and see how everything was going but never helped her couldn't cook if his life depended on it ha ha. Take care -Diane xx

  • Hi Sue

Have sent a PM but hope the 'blown bulb' did not lead to an all out gremlin war on your laptop.  As to where the first half of this year has gone; it is amazing how time passes by.  I think with having the work done on my house I lost track of time and as we are yet to experience any real feel of summer, I am feeling trapped in Spring!!!  A bit of a blurry pic follows(and the loss of the leader's head! (this little family was being chivvied back towards the pond during my visit to Woburn)) which shows I need to keep practising ha ha.  Take care.  Jules xx

  • Hi Diane

Managed to dodge the showers yesterday and also today and though it is very blustery we do have sunshine so hoping the ground will dry out enough for me to mow later today (or tomorrow).  I am tennis watching at the moment so will have to be later!

Hope you enjoyed dinner with your sister and am sure she enjoys a break to sample your home cooking. I was a little lazy and just had mushroom omlette but will be doing a pasta dish for this evening. Tomorrow I will go to the Farmers'Market, held on the first Sunday of the month, and hopefully get some tasty cheese from the local farm.  Will be at the gym first thing and weather permitting (they say it should be mainly dry) go for a good walk (have been  nibbling a few unhealthy bites today!) before returning to watch more sport and/or get into the garden.

I think my hot flushes went on hold (or I just gave up noticing them) whilst hubby was sick but am back to getting them mainly at night so a little annoying.

As to my visiting heron it was pretty big and I think has had a few local fish out of ponds recently.  We have a large lido just a couple of miles away and plenty of birds/ducks in that area so suspect he was on his way between watering holes.  I was lucky the camera was sitting by me otherwise would not have managed to get off a shot without frightening it off (photography from the comfort of my armchair).

Hope you having a peaceful day.  Take care  Jules xx

  • Thanks, Sue, cold is almost gone, though still need plenty of tissues to hand and lots  of cream for my poor old schnoz.

Ooh, that's weird, Sue, seems like all your stuff is ganging up on you.  I always give all my electrical gadgets a pat when I turn them off and say 'thank you', just in case. (Strange, moi?)

Take care, hope you have a good evening.

    Hazel xx

  • Sweet picture Jules.  I expect the missing head was all part of your composition, wasn't it?  ;-))

Was it your local fun day today?  Hope the weather was same as here, sunny and windy, but at least dry - it's so rotten when it pours with rain on the little ones, isn't it?

Enjoy the tennis, might start watching next week, gets more interesting in the second week I think.

    Take care, Hazel xx
