Hi hazel and Jules hope your day was good and the weather like yours Jules haven't been the best weather wise. The rain and wind came down with all its power earlier it was a nightmare trying to get all my shopping in the car with it coming down fast. Jules hope your daughter is okay and lest hope everything stays fine and she can get on with things without you and her worrying.
Hazel I know the cold is and absolutely nuisance and having cold sores in your nose is the worst in my opinion. What I always found helped when having the cold is sipping hot tea and rest and hydrate yourself definitely eased my symptoms. Hope you can have a good nights sleep tonight. Take care -Diane xx
Hi all, my laptop is playing up again (grrrrr) so I hope this message comes through ok.
Jules, will be thinking of you and your daughter tomorrow and hope the news is good...
Hazel, how miserable for you and if the tea doesn't work, try a hot toddie or two?
Diane, hope you are are ok after getting soaked.
Sorry for the short sharp reply but I wanted to say hello before I am tempted to chuck the laptop out of the window!!
Take care Sue xx
Hi Sue
Sorry the gremlins have returned but your message did get through. Thanks for your kind words. Appointment at 3 and as you can imagine have everything crossed and we are both trying to keep busy this morning. I started with a chat with my neighbour, then a visit to the gym (do not normally go on a Thursday as would be at work) followed by hair cut (always find this relaxing). Will have lunch and then meet up and set off (son in law will get in from work to look after the youngest boy and do the school run later).
Hope to be back with up to date news later. Take care of yourself. Jules xx
Hi all just back from a hill walk before that I was at thedoctors just a regular check up. My blood pressure was abnormally high but I suffer from hypertension so was no big surprise my GP told me to keep and eye on it. Me and my sister are going to pop into town later and catch a bite to eat as long as the weather stays dry but the dark clouds are looming. Going to make steak pie tonight so new dt get a few things. Take care -Diane x
Hi everyone,
FIVE MINUTES OF MAGIC.
Just to let you know me and Mrs B were entertained by two young squirrels this morning. They were in our front garden playing aroun the base of our cherry tree. They were chasing each other around, doing back flips, charging up the tree, and then down again. It was five minutes of pure magic. If I had know they were going to perform for so long, I would have dashed and got my camera but I didnt want to miss a second of their performance. Me and Mrs B were laughing for about a half hour afterwards, Brian
Good evening all
Just a little update to say my daughter's appointment today went well. Whilst she does have a small growth on her pituitary gland all her tests show it not to be causing any problems and her hormone levels in her blood tests were all normal. She has been discharged by the consultant as no further treatment is currently necessary. Should she be aware of any changes/new symptoms she just has to ask for a referral. As you can imagine we are all very relieved.
Diane
I am sure your doc will call you back for regular checks re your blood pressure if you/he are concerned that you need medication. I went through a couple of months of extra readings taken at home but it all settled down quite nicely and so far no tablets required. With all you have been through in recent weeks I am not surprised your current readings are high. Be kind to yourself.
So far today it has been dry but the ground is still too wet to mow so hopefully will be able to do it over the coming weekend (no plans as yet so looks to be a relaxing one.
Brian
Love the thought of watching squirrels at play - so entertaining as long as they stay outside!! They sounded like a cute double act and I am not surprised that you and Mrs B were so happy for a good while after their display.
Hazel
How are you doing. Sounds like a nasty cold virus and they can be a b------- to get rid off. Thinking of you and sending hugs. Hot toddy would be my recommendation! Take care. Jules xx
Hi hazel well me and my sister did get into the town and got back just in time as the rain is pouring down at the minuet.
Jules I actually am on high blood pressure tablets but some times they stop working and need to change to a different kind of tablet. This is probably the case and your maybe right the last few weeks may be partly fault but this has happened before. I've been on tablets since I was 60 doctor said it could of been due to menopause.
Now about to put dinner on and watch TV. Take care -Diane x
5 minutes of magic indeed, Brian. Wonderful how these seemingly 'small' things can bring so much pleasure, isn't it?
Hazel xx
Oh, that is good news, Jules, I am pleased. Now maybe you can all look forward to your family holiday without that worrying you, and it's nice to know that she will get a quick referral in future if necessary. Just needs baby and mum to get rid of the nasties now, but hopefully the treatment will soon sort that out.
Thanks for the hugs, might just take up the suggestion from you and Sue re the hot toddy!!
Take care, Hazel xx
Hi Diane,
Glad you enjoyed a bite to eat with your sister and managed to avoid getting wet.Not been too bad here today though very cloudy now so maybe the rain will be moving our way.
Keeping a regular check on your bp at least means you are aware and can have your medication altered if needs be. I did not realise it could be a side effect of the menapause; interesting. I still have the occasional hot flushes/night sweats but on the whole have got through this part of a woman's body changes quite well thankfully.
Just finished my dinner and still watching Wimbledon. Here is an interesting addition to my visiting birds (he stopped for a breather on top of the garage at the end of the garden whilst I was eating breakfast this morning!
Have a relaxing evening and take care. Jules x
