My Journey Continues

Hi all my forum buddies.  Just wanted to post on a new thread as it is more relevant than where my journey began.  Hope to see you here. Jules

  • Bless you, Diane, would love the soup but not sure if it would stay down!  I am taking it easy but very fed up with having to do so.  Love to you and your sister, thinking of her today.

  • Hi Hazel,

I'm sorry I didnt mean to make you cry; I meant to try and cheer you up. I have been sourcing some jokes to put in the newsletters so will have to post on on here for you to put things right.

Bob was in trouble. He’d forgotten his wedding anniversary. His wife was really angry. She told him "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that

goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds AND IT BETTER BE TH[[ ]]ERE!" The next morning he got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up, she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

Bob has been missing since Friday.

I did forget our anniversay some years ago and it wasnt until I was on my way home from work I realized why Mrs B had been very off with me that morning. So I stoped at a small shop and got her a card, writting it out in the garage. I still got a frosty reception even more so when she opened the card and found I had got her a birthday card. It did not go down well. So when her birthday came round, I got her and anniversary card, after all I had to even it up didnt I??????????

You can see Mrs B has a lot to put up with ha ha.

Take care, hope your soon feeling better, Brian.

  • Brian, it did cheer me up, that's why I cried, we women are funny creatures!  I have saved my virtual flowers to my pictures folder and in my e-diary.

    Love the story, how wicked!

My late partner was a bit like you, he would buy a card for the picture or words inside and if it was for the wrong occasion he'd just alter it!  But that was how he was, so I got used to it - at least I did get a card, and the verse was always heartfelt so I forgave him!

Mrs B puts up with you cos you're a lovely man, Brian.

  • Oh Hazel, I am so sorry you are struggling and you have been through such a lot.  I hope your medical team can help you through this grotty period (assuming it is the build up of chemo which is causing  you problems ).  It does seem to be cumulative as we noticed with hubby that the side effects worsened as he had each treatment.  Sending big hugs and hope you will be on the way up again shortly.  You certainly are not a whinger and you can rant here any time you like. Be kind to yourself.  Julesxxx

  • Brian this post had me almost in tears - with laughter- goodness knows what my neightbours will be thinking as I have had builders here all day!!   The virtual flowers for Hazel were a lovely idea and I am attaching a pick of some orchids I saw whilst in the Bontanic Gdns in Edinbugh.  Have to say some of the  cacti were amazing too but a bit 'rude looking' to photograph !

  • Lovely photos Jules and Hazel, the one below is for you..  Sue xx

  • Hi everyone,

Just came across this picture of a boquet of flowers and thought I would send it on to my friends as I know floweres always cheer Mrs B up.

    Hope you like them, Brian.

  • Thank you so much, Sue, sweet little group and one for my pics folder!

Hope you are doing okay, take care.

  • Thank you so much, Jules.  I do feel like a bit of a whinger sometimes, you know, when I compare myself to lots of other people on the forum who are going through so much worse. At present I have no pain, I can get about easily, I don't have to have any regular nasty invasive procedures, and I thank God for all that, believe me -  all I have is this blessed nausea that drags me down and I know even that will pass given time.

There are a few other minor probs like tender skin and pressure sores on knees and elbows and swollen ankles on and off, but all manageable, so at the moment I consider myself quite lucky, to be honest!  Nevertheless it is lovely to be 'cosseted' on here by all my  thoughtful, caring forum friends, I must admit!   So a big thank you to you all.

So pleased you enjoyed your break, the photos are lovely as usual, and hope your visit to Mum goes well.

    Hazel xx
