Money off M&S post surgery bras, VAT Free!!

Hi, fed up with my operation bras I took myself into a socially distant Marks and |Spencers today to get something new and prettier, using the details I got when fitted for my first post op bra with prosthesis.   I got two pretty ones, then saw they have a range specifically for post surgery, I was unaware of that, and delighted to find tickets on the post op ones , saying that so long as you sign a declaration on the back of the ticket, your purchase( if youve had surgery) is tax free no VAT!! so I signed, only applies to their limited specific  range of post op bras, not the" fancy" ones, but its a small saving.ansd they gave me a free big hessian carrier as I used my sparks card!

  • Yea they are really good and comfy and quality ... though I had to ask for V A T off .. but they are so nice ... so I'd recommend them too ...   ; ))  Chrissie x

  • I ordered 4 bras last week, all from their post surgery range, but wasn’t offered the VATexemption. I’ve just been looking it up, as the first bra arrived today. Does anyone know if it can be claimed back post-purchase? I’ve just been told that I could be waiting 3 to 5 years for my recon due to the backlog.

Just an update, apparently the buttons were not working. They are sending me some forms through the post! A bit of a pain, but I spent almost £100, so it’s worth claiming back.

  • Hi JoDec and welcome to the forum.

From what I can see, if you placed your order through their website the VAT exemption is removed at checkout but if you don't believe this has happened it would be best to get in touch with them to double check

Breast Cancer Now have some information about VAT exemption for post surgery bras just here but it may be worth giving them a call to find out more.

Hopefully some of our members who have experience of this will offer their advice to you soon as well.

    Kind regards,

    Hi JoDec,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

Just a little advice for the future. Not all staff offer the VAT exemption, so alwys be ready to ask for it if it is not automatically offered.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
