I ordered 4 bras last week, all from their post surgery range, but wasn’t offered the VATexemption. I’ve just been looking it up, as the first bra arrived today. Does anyone know if it can be claimed back post-purchase? I’ve just been told that I could be waiting 3 to 5 years for my recon due to the backlog.

Just an update, apparently the buttons were not working. They are sending me some forms through the post! A bit of a pain, but I spent almost £100, so it’s worth claiming back.

From what I can see, if you placed your order through their website the VAT exemption is removed at checkout but if you don't believe this has happened it would be best to get in touch with them to double check

Breast Cancer Now have some information about VAT exemption for post surgery bras just here but it may be worth giving them a call to find out more.

Hopefully some of our members who have experience of this will offer their advice to you soon as well.

Just a little advice for the future. Not all staff offer the VAT exemption, so alwys be ready to ask for it if it is not automatically offered.

I noticed after purchase that there are labels on the bra offered VAT off. Still to return to shop to enquire.

The VAT is usually deducted at the till, not sure what happens with on-line orders. I haven't even had to sign for this recently. It is certainly worth enquiring if you haven't had this reduction.
