CBD oil

I came across this very interesting article about using CBD oil for pain. I have arthritis in my hands and feet, and am taking Letrozole, which gives me menopause symptoms, following surgery for breast cancer. I asked my McMillan nurse about CBD oil and she simply didn't know. The consultant who treats my arthritis said it was ok to take for pain relief, but that was before I was diagnosed with cancer. I still don't have an answer, but am tempted to try it out.

  • I suffer from Fibromyalgia and I thought I'd try some CBD oil for the pain.  The results have been disappointing to say the least.  No improvement in pain symptoms and the oil itself seems to be giving me mouth ulcers.  Looks like I wasted my money.

This is not some magic cure.

  • Thanks for your response. I'm sorry you've had a disappointing experience. I never considered CBD oil to be a "magic cure", I simply wondered if it might provide some relief. Good luck.

  • Hi amq I've been taking cbd for over a year now it certainly helps with arthritis in my knee. If i don't take it i can tell. I don't take much because I'm causes it might react with my cancer treatment, ok so far. If you try it and see and it works let people know. Good luck and best wishes,....... Billy

  • Thanks so much, Billy, that's very positive.

  • Hi there, I have been looking into this today for the very same reason.

    Letrazole is the devil's work.

I felt the side effects practically straight away and have so much pain.

The cancer nurses can't comment on the cbd oil I asked

What harm can it do maybe worth a shot xx

  • Yes, I'm thinking the same thing. As I already have arthritis I really don't need any additional pain! I take Curcumin C3 complex (turmeric) and it helps with the swellings on my joints but I can't take ibuprofen except topically as a gel so am stuck with paracetamol and occasionally codeine. I think when my radiotherapy is finished and I've recovered then I'm going to give it a go. If you try it and it works for you, do please let me know! Good luck.

  • Oops - I was about to suggest a combination of paracetamol and ibuprofen but you've already said you cant take the latter.

  • Hello folks,

Just a reminder that if you are taking or considering taking CBD oil or any other complementary or alternative supplement please do let the team responsible for your care know as they can affect how other medications work. You can read more here

  • Hi Jenn

i already contacted my MacMillan nurse to ask her and unfortunately she said she didn't know whether or not I could take it. Neither did any of her colleagues. Hence my original question to this forum.

  • Hi amq that's trouble with anything new years of tests. To find out if it does good or bad. Whatever you do hope your pains ease off. Best wishes............. Billy
