Trouble at work

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and had a mastectomy. Luckily I am clear. Whilst I was recovering I was overwhelmed by the love and support I got from family and friends and felt strong enough to go back to work after only 4 weeks. But at work I got screamed at by a lunatic madwoman colleague who I can only think had some massive hang ups and it knocked me for six. I had to take more time off just to recover mentally. I didn’t know I was vulnerable mentally until someone had a go!! It has taken me longer mentally than physically to get over this. Still not there yet! Has anyone else been treated badly at work post diagnosis?

  • Waste no time and make an official complaint about this mad woman. She needs to put through the company's disciplinary process and given a formal written warning.  I hope there were witnesses because you may need to call on them.  Every company and organisation should have an official complaints procedure, but there are usually strict time limits, so don't stop to think about it.

If there's a union then your union rep should help you go through the process.
