DANCE FOR LIFE

MAYBE THERE SHOULD BE A DANCE FOR LIFE FOR THOSE OF US WHO CANT RUN AND LOVE DANCING, DANCING CAN INCLUDE EVERYONE BECAUSE IT CAN BE DONE STANDING, FROM A CHAIR OR A WHEELCHAIR. AND WE COULD ALL DO AS MUCH OR AS LITTLE AS OUR DEGREE OF HEALTH WOULD ALLOW !!!!!!!! WHAT DOES EVERYONE THINK ????

  • Hi Pat

Anyone can dance, just move to the rytthym lol, cant even spell it ha ha, I used to be brilliiant at spelling st school, but my memory not what it was, so it could have been a spelling B, but it has to be dance now.. Before I found out about the BC I used to go dancing with my sis and friends about once every 6 weeks or so and we would dance until dawn, My last dancing attempt was ruined by the change in painkillers and we had to cut it short, so I could do with a good bop,the radiotherapy helped with the pain though, had the one big blast, its just starting to creep back, but im having the bone treatment next week along with the new chemo. Only had  one so far (Zometa) its a long story. Hope you are well at the moment.

  • Hi Hothead49,

Feeling fine at the moment though felt a bit yuk at times over the past couple of weeks. Actually doing the race for life this coming Sunday, though will be amongst the walkers, the friend I asked to come with me, she only saunters; last two years have lapped her twice in one circuit of the relay for life course in St Agnes Cornwall. I can sprint for about 200yds only these days, gave up my running when I moved to Cornwall, no pavements and no street lights in the village, feel a bit of an idiot running at my age anyway!  Pat cougar69

  • Hi hothead 49,  What area are you in?  I'm in London and would gladly get involved in organising an event.  I have set up small charities in the past and used to organised events for disabled people so I've got some skills.  Areyou thinking of doing it  through Cancer Research or independently?

I think you are amazing doing that and you sound like you are a lot of fun to be around.Hope you have a good day and the weather is kind to you. Im going to Tatton Park flower show this weekend, im really looking forwards to it, always wanted to go. I will do the race for life next summer if my new treatment works and shrinks me lol, Im getting really nervous about next week, Ive been reading about Abraxane and its quite scarey stuff. Im sending you hugs for weekend. Ive been to the Lizard Point a few years ago, Cornwall is beautiful.

    Love and good luk

  • Hi Pat

How did you get on with the race for life?

    Von XXXX

  • IS ANYONE DANCING, COZ IM ASKING??????????????????????

  • Good morning Von,

Well the morning was good, not hot and sunny, bit cloudy, cool breeze, really wanted to start off with the joggers, but my friend would only agree to walk the 5K, there were more walkers than runners, so it was difficult to speed walk- I sort of hate my path being blocked from side to side with friends sauntering and talking!, Felt so buzzed the rest of the day though, next yr must find myself a runner or jogger and do the RFL in a different town, Like Penzance or Falmouth. To prove I actually did it, posted my Bib and medal thingy on the thread 'is the RFL sexist' in off Topic

  • Good Morning Pat

well done you, what a wonderful thing to have under your belt, I hope I will be up to it next year, Im ok with yesterdays treatment so far, they said the first five days on abraxane are the worst, and they dont usually give steroids with it, but because i reacted badly to the other stuff they have given me 5 days of them, Im gonna be pumped up lol. Been for a walk down to the drs and park this morning and im going for another walk in a bit with my daughter, while the grandkinds ride their bikes, Im getting tired now though, they said the fatigue is worse with this treatment .Going to give it a try though.

Have a good day hun hope you are well.

    Love Von

  • Hi Von, Love your DANCE FOR LIFE idea, i'm not the best of movers but i'll happily dance my butt off for a good cause, best of luck,
