Hi Ed I got the GHIC card like you suggested.  Allclear travel quoted me £1950 for a one week trip to Portugal and £267 for an annual trip cover with Insurancewith.  I really dont know how they can be so massively different.  Are you off to Portugal in September as well, we are going to Praia da Luz hopefully.  I havent booked it yet as waiting until last minute.  Take care.

I hope you are doing OK. Im heartened to see that you are still planning for your trip to Portugal. I think some companies quote silly prices to get rid of higher risk clients as they simply dont want the bother. My last quotes were £900 and £1400. Ill try insurancewith.com again but by phone as online was refused a quote. I will book last minute too to fit between hospital visits.. Recent scans show no progession of cancer but I can feel a change. Back is getting more painful and I get numb fingers and weakness in my hand I wondered if you experince anything similar.  All the best Lee.
