Hi 919395 and welcome to the forum.
I'm glad you have felt comfortable enough to tell your employers about your diagnosis. Most employers understand how stressful this time can be and will do what they can to help but if you are feeling upset or pressured by these monthly phone calls, do make sure you talk things through with your manager or HR department. There are different ways your employer can support you during treatment, so telling them how the cancer or treatment is affecting you and/or your work can really help.
Hopefully some of our members will be along soon to offer their support and advice but in the meantime, we're thinking of you and wishing you all the best with your chemo and radiotherapy.
Kind regards,
Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
I feel really guilty for being off work. Been off for nearly a year and still no chance of me returning while I'm having treatment. My manager phones every 2 or 3 weeks but that's in the sickness policy for them to do. I'd rather they didn't, I want to be able to forget about work for now.
Meanwhile I'd like to be able to go out and socialise on my good days but guilt about work stops me from doing that, I'm afraid I'll see someone from work and they will think I should be at work if I can go out. Any tips on relieving the guilt?
