Hello friends. I was told on Tuesday that the cancer that had been sorted (it seemed) in my bladder had now spread. You will all understand the brick in the head feeling that gave me and my husband! It is now Friday morning and we'ree still in shock. Kepp bursting into tears massive feelng of all this being unreal. Went to see the oncology doctor who was actually very encouraging. Told us not to worry about time scales but to be as positive as possible.  Go to sleep thinking of it, waking up thinking of it. Due to start Chemo in next few weeks. I would value any encouragung words. So need to hear them. Thank you

  • Hi there,

having read your post and no response as yet, I thought I would reply.

I am really sorry to hear about your cancer spreading and totally understand your anxiety.
Its very often then mental effect is has on the diagnosed/partners/family etc that can sometimes be worse than the actual treatment.
It is good that your oncologist was very encouraging as mine was the same and helped me no end hearing from a specialist instead of dr google etc.
There are so many advances in cancer treatment now and i wish you well with your upcoming treatment.

Try and stay and strong as possible and I know its not easy to do, but hang in there and we are all roting for you. Believe in your consultant and be as positive as you can be.

Please chat away on here about anything you like if it helps at all.Do you have any hobbies/interests that keep you busy and can distract constant thinking about? Do you have a good support structure with family/friends?

    Kind regards

    Ian
