Triple negative breast cancer grade 3

Hi everyone.

I have triple negative breast cancer grade 3 and start my chemo in 2 weeks. 3 sessions of FEC - T then 3 of docetaxel.  Have been looking at wigs but just doesn't feel right. I'm scared and don't wanna know to much about it if I honest just want to know that it's treatable and curable which docs have told me it is so that's good enough for me. Has anyway else had this diagnosis or treatment and what can i expect. The fear of infection while going thru treatment scares me also. How has everyone else been with that ??

Sending love n hugs to all fighting cancer

    Hi Zelda,

I hadn't realised that you have had problems with your breasts for so long and, am surprised that they didn't remove your breast years ago.

This is possibly to do with the changes that have been made in treatment in the past 30 years. I lost my mum to secondary breast cancer 21 years ago and, have had 2 bouts of breast cancer myself in the past 9 years. There is just no comparison between the treatment my mum received and that which I have experienced since I was diagnosed.

How are you getting on with the new chemo?

    Kiind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Angela. Lovely to hear your doing well. I'm grade 3 trip neg and have had chemo and surgery and now on the last bit of radiotherapy. I can't shake the feeling it will come back and beat me in the end although I'm quite an upbeat positive person but all the stuff about how trip neg is lower survival rates and  more likely to recoccur and stuff is terrifying. I keep saying what will be will be and try not to worry but I'm only 43 and so scared this is gonna get me . How did you overcome these feelings

  • Hi Dondon0808,

I have been reading this chat havig recently been diagnosed with stage 1, grade 3 triple neg breast cancer at the age of 30. I am going through genetic testing as it is likely I have a Bracca gene.
I am due to start chemo in 2 weeks -  likely 6 rounds followed by surgery (likely double mascectomy) and then a bit of radiation therapy - then likely recon surgery.

How did your treatment go/ how is it going?

    Hi Dondon,

I am glad to hear that you have had chemo and surgery and are now on the home strait with radiotherapy. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer, a lumpectomy and a double mastectomy in the past 9 years and, I can assure you that the possibility of recurrence is one of the biggest fears that anyone with a cancer diagnosis has.

Try to put a positive slant on things, instead of allowing all these scary thoughts to go through your head. Do your best to enjoy each and every day as much as you possibly can. Try not to think of the fact that you have triple negative BC. You have cancer and, breast cancer treatments have improved massively in the past few years. My mother died from secondary breast cancer 21 years ago and there is just no comparison between the treatment that I have received and that which she experienced.

You have undergone all the treatment advised by your consultant and his team. Instead of looking too far ahead, live life in the moment. It can sometimes be too much to think too far ahead. Live day by day, or even hour by hour if need be.

I sincerely hope that you will find that your treatment has worked when you finish your radiotherapy.

Please let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    Hi LisaScaz,

I am delighted to hear that, after all you've been through, there is no sign of cancer any more. Long may you remain like that.

    Kind regards,

    Hi Zelda,

It sounds as if you’ve been having a pretty rough time with your chemo. How are you coping with your new chemo?

Please don’t worry about surgery after this. I have had a lumpectomy in 2010 and a double mastectomy a year later. There really was nothing to either of the operations. Try not to look too far ahead. Take life day by day and don’t look too far ahead.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

    HI Simbear,

Welcome to our community, although I'm sorry that you've had to join us. Do you have a history of breast cancer in the family, or are you just making sure for future generations? I hope that you do not have the BRACA gene.

It won't be long now until you start your chemo. Please try not to worry about surgery after that. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 9 years and, have had a lumpectomy followed by a double mastectomy the following year. I felt better after the double mastectomy than I did after the lumpectomy.  I wasn't as lobsided and I felt that I had done as much as I could to get rid of my cancer.

I hope that, with time, you will feel better once you get all this treatment behind you.

Please update us and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
