Triple negative breast cancer grade 3

Hi everyone.

I have triple negative breast cancer grade 3 and start my chemo in 2 weeks. 3 sessions of FEC - T then 3 of docetaxel.  Have been looking at wigs but just doesn't feel right. I'm scared and don't wanna know to much about it if I honest just want to know that it's treatable and curable which docs have told me it is so that's good enough for me. Has anyway else had this diagnosis or treatment and what can i expect. The fear of infection while going thru treatment scares me also. How has everyone else been with that ??

Sending love n hugs to all fighting cancer

  • I dont know what size they are there was one by the blocked milk duct and one at top of my breast and in lymph nodes. They told me now there are more tumours behind the milk duct . They didnt show up on mammogram but they say them in Mri . Told me i was having mri see how big they where and so they know where to put the pegs or something . Finished one lot of chemo every 2 weeks . Now started new chem  2 then 1 then 1 then 2 every week for 12 weeks so 6 lots chemo a month. After that taking my boob off all so scary. Xx

    Hi Zelda,

This can sometimes happen, which is why they have decided to give you an MRI. By using different tests, tumours can be found with one test which don't show up in others. Your consultant is obviously being diligent in his tests and I applaud this, as it is important to get an accurate diagnosis , before he tries to get an effective treatment.

I haven't had chemo or radiotherapy, so cannot comment on this, but I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 9 years and am currently waiting to get a melanoma removed from my face shortly. I first had a lumpectomy. The following year I had a second cancer in the same breast and had a double mastectomy. I found my mastectomies easier to deal with than my lumpectomy and, notice that others on this site have said the same.

The thought of having your boob removed is scary, but that is only a thought. The reality of having this done, was far easier than I ever imagined.

Thinking of you and hoping that it all goes well.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hello my Name is Angela I had triple negative breast cancer  grade 3 I under went a mastectomy had chemo and radiation.you just think positive and you will get there I promise I did and look at me now I will be 21 yrs in remission don’t worry you will be fine

  • Hi again, well just thought I’d touch base to see how things are going with you!?

i have finished all the 6 months of chemo, I had my double mastectomy with immediate DIEP flap reconstruction which went well, I have the second stage of the reconstruction to have May/June.

I still feel rather worn out as I haven’t really got off this ‘treadmill’ it seems for almost a year but I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

the good news is I have had a pathological complete result from the chemo and mastectomy so I have no sign of cancer at the moment which is great!

I hope you are doing ok also!

just wanted to say keep going and let’s all hope for some normality soon!

    lisa xx
