Anyone with breast cancer on natural supplements?

hello everyone, I was diagnosed about a week ago and I am not surgery or any kind of treatment, we’re still in the process of checking the rest of my organs to see if I have any metastases bad I want to start taking some anti-cancer natural supplements. Does anybody takes anything that he’s been working for them ?

I read that Spirulina and green Matcha tea are good   Any comments?

  • Hi there ... im a grade 3 breast cancer lass ... and couldnt have radio as my skin doesnt heal ... and ive had termaric / black pepper / coconut oil every day ... i looked it up on u tube ... my thougits were it can't do no harm and even if it only helps slow things down I'd be happy ... and I've done that now for 2 years and there's no side effects as it's natural so I've got nothing to loose

... but before you try anything make sure it's comparable with your treatment ... I can do it because I'm only on tamoxifen ... who knows ... but firstly go for the treatment your oncology team recommend. . These are just suppliments. .. Chrissie  ; ))

  •  Hi Chris thank you for responding. I am barely beginning I haven’t had my surgery yet I’m having my CAT scan on Monday hopefully I don’t have any ramifications. But I’m starting to take couple supplements now  how do you take what you’re taking and how much?

    thank you

  • Hello Liliana,

Chriss has given you some excellent advice. It is important to mention to your medical team what supplements you are taking or planning to take just to make sure they won't interfere with your treatment as some things are not compatible with your particular treatment plan. It is a good idea to mention these even before you actually start your treatment. You can find out more about vitamins and diet supplements here.

I thought you might also be interested in reading our information on complementary and alternative therapies here.

Best of luck with your CAT scan on Monday and we also hope all goes well with the surgery and that you don't have too long to wait.

  • Hi .... well firstly go to those threads Lucie put on , they are really interesting and give more info ...

I get termaric from health food shops as it's the best one and really not very dear at all .. I get a jar of coconut oil from b &m as it's only about 2 pounds 50 and just normal black pepper ..

A level Teaspoon of termaric a teaspoon of coconut oil and sprinkle of black pepper ... App you have to have black pepper as it and the oil helps the body absorb the termaric ... I add it to baked beans or gravy or even scrambled egg ... Just gives it a slight curry flavour ... Or just warm it and add hunny and taste is o.k ... every day ... Don't warm up in microwave... It turns funny ; ((

My lump was grade 3 but contained and  lymph node was clear ... It didn't stop the lump growing ... But ld like to think it helped it be contained ... Still do this every day ... Coz even if it didn't do that , there's no harm in it either ...  But do your homework , read those threads , go on u tube and put in termaric for cancer ... Then decide if it's for you ... But must stress this is NOT a cure ... Just a maybe ...

  • Hi criss is dead right if you put in turmeric in on cancer research its now been proven to help with cancers its an antioxident goes round body donating and electron to free radicals stops them steeling an electron from dna and othere cells .p

  • Hello everyone,

I thought I'd share the link Paulus is referring to! You can learn more about turmeric and cancer here.

Although early trials have shown promising results, there is currently no research evidence to show that turmeric can prevent or treat cancer. It is totally safe in cooking though and pretty tasty too. Suddenly, writing this I am craving a nice curry :D

  • Just want to say thanks for a tread on cancer research, having all the facts, for and against ... so thank you Lucy for not just dismissing it ... I would love to tell them  my journey ... as someone who can't have radiotherapy. . So just hoping this gives me a bit more time , I'm not looking for a mirical ... just a little longer ... and close now to my biggest milestone ... one year next month ....Chrissie x

  • I found acupuncture very helpful when I was being treated for prostate cancer. It has a calming and relaxing effect which helped me cope with the stress.
