Anal squamous cell cancer

Is there anyone on here who has had anal squamous cell cancer x

  • Lynne, So good to hear about your mum....must be a great weight off your mind.. my hospital didn't have a bell either and everyone talking about it.....made me a little disappointed when I completed the course..... won't be long and you'll be head down and digging up them weeds! :) Mandy x

  • I'm glad your mom is getting better, one less thing for you to worry about, your treatment is enough to contend with. Hopefully you will both get better together. I've tidied the garden today and done a bit of housework then I get my book and a drink then chill in my deck chair, I look as tho I've been on holiday lol. Sue xx
  • Hello girls

Haven’t been on for a while it’s lovrly to hear you are all doing ok and Lynne bet you can’t believe the end is in sight.

Thats me 7 months post treatment got my next check up on 8/6 so fingers and toes crossed - it all seems a bit surreal now.

Im off for a weeks holiday with eight of my friends on Friday which I really didn’t think I’d be doing even a few months ago so there really is life after treatment finished.

Sending you love and hugs my fellow warriors

  • Have a lovely holiday Sandra, nice to hear your back to normal lol. I have my first follow up on the 11th June too.

  • Hello Ladies,

It's great to hear that all of you seem to be doing okay (and mum's are getting better as well).

Lynne, you and your friends should do a line dance out the door to celebrate.  Only a couple of more days and you are there!  Then the healing begins.

We did it, ladies!  This group has been a blessing.  Thank you for sharing your journey's which continue to help me get through this (some tears, some giggles).

    Hugs to all, Sheri

  • Hi girls

    I’ve done it, treatement completed..........yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!

Got a sore bum and just today it has started to split..........have been given lots of lotions and potions as I had my last review today.

    cant stop crying, so relieved.

thank you girls for all your help, hints and tips.

    Lynne xx

  • Well done Lynne, Give it a week and you will start to see improvements in your skin. It's a lovely feeling isn't it? Don't expect too much too soon. I thought I could quickly just get back to normal, it won't happen that easy. Enjoy your time now to get over it. Sue xx P.s how is your mom?
  • Best feeling isn’t it / but take it easy for the next few weeks Suzy is right takes a wee while to get back in track but that’s you done the hard bit - take care xxx

  • Well done Lynne, If you are anything like me you will recover very quickly. Everyone is different. There is no rush so take your time to feel better......you'll be surprised how quickly everything starts to repair... Thinking of you. Mandy x
  • Hi there Sheri, I am guessing we have all now had the radio and chemo treatment and all are on the road to recovery. Some quicker than others...... Its still something that we will all continue to think about and have concerns about but we have all managed to get through the process.  How are you now?  Have you managed to resolve the stomach cramps with the dairy free diet?  I have managed to eat exactly the same as before....not sure if thats good or not! Regular movements and not too bad with the urgency to get to the toilet - which only happens every now and then and generally first thing in the morning... My only side effect if you can call it that is the amount of wind I still have.  Do you or any of the other ladies still have this?  Having spoken to another patient with the same diagnoses on here - she said she is suffering with itching in that area but I don't have that at all.....anyone else have excess wind?  Let me know how you get on with the diet and if it causes your discomfort. Perhaps the diet I am on needs looking at..... thinking of you.  Mandy x
