The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Office politics are the only constant in every workplace! Used to be really bad in last workplace - good thing I got made redundant! Always a positive.

Have been awake since 3am  - am absolutely panicking about "what if's" with scan results. Have given myself a telling off so calmed myself down. Missing my son terribly as well.

When did life become all about results???

Cornish well done on the weight loss!!! That's great!

WQ - a lb a week is best way to maintain loss so that's excellent!

I was thinking of getting fat freezing done - seems to be the rage. Knew I should've married a plastic surgeon - money and would've looked good as well! And hardly seen him as consultants are very busy. Would've been a win-win. Missed the boat on that One!

It's raining here and it's making me sleepy but it's almost time to get up.

Have a good a day as possible ladies.

  • Morning peeps

good luck nd thinking of all who are getting results and their treatment plans today just remember every step you do is a step closer to end of treatment x ️X

  • Morning all

Good weight loss Cornish. Sorry I missed that one yesterday.

Hope everything goes well Jbains. Thinking of you today.

Off to see oncologist myself soon. Feel a bit apprehensive. Wary of surprises. Too early in the morning to panic!

Have a lovely day Sandra. Don’t get too worn out playing games.

    Sundial

  • Sundial no panicking. You're one step closer as Sandra says. You've got This! You're in the system now and going to be treated to get rid of this bas**** cancer. I shall send lots of positivity and strength to all those getting results, struggling on this rollercoaster and coping with life.

    You got this ladies!

  • Good luck today jbains and sundial. Results day always filled me with anxiety. Even though you try not to panic its natural that your thoughts start to run away from you.

Today I'm chilling.....am absolutely shattered. Off out again tomorrow to Woburn safari park so need to top up the energy reserves.

Hope all is well ladies x

  • Hi all

Three zaps of brachytherapy needed over two sessions a week apart at the end of September. Cancer all removed by surgery even though it was deep in the muscle of the uterus it was contained there. Brachytherapy is precautionary. Very relieved.

Hoping everyone else gets good news.

    Sundial

  • Awwww hun I'm so pleased for you. It's so good to know you are finally getting close to the finish line. Made my day that has....now we are just waiting for jbains....fingers crossed for her too x

  • Great news sundial. Always nice to come away from the oncologists happy. There’s always a sense of doom waiting in that waiting room. Really happy for you :-)

  • Really pleased for you sundial great news x

  • Sundial  absolutely amazing news! Now do still remember to take it easy and listen to your body. To think your almost there and really so so great they got it all when they operated!

Cause for celebration! Made me smile on the train when I read that - few people were looking at me funny! Oh well!

Enjoy the rest of your evening ladies and keep well.
