Hi I'm Katrina. I'm 48 and a mother of 4 with an amazing partner. I was diagnosed with stage 1 invasive breast cancer on 15.03.18. I'm a positive person and know this will not get the better of me. My journey so far; 01.02.18 attended mammogram screening 09.02.18 letter received saying I need to be followed up by breast care clinic 20.02.18 1st biopsy for clustered microcalcifications 01.03.18 dx atypical ductal hyperplasia 05.03.18 2nd lesion biopsied 15.03.18 dx stage 1 invasive tubular breast carcinoma ER+ 17.03.18 met with consultant surgeon 03.04.18 pre op appointment 13.04.18 two lumpectomys left breast with sentinel lymph node removal 01.05.18 met with consultant surgeon. Margins clear and micrometastes in 1 lymph node. Appointment booked with oncologist for 09.05.18 09.05.18 met with oncologist. 5cm of DCIS intermediate grade also removed during surgery. 2mm clear margins. Need physiotherapy. Tamoxifen prescribed. Radiotherapy to start within 4 weeks. 21.05.18 marked up for radiotherapy and given start date of 5th June. 05.06.18 -25.06.18 15 sessions of radiotherapy 23.07.18 discharged from oncology back to breast clinic for annual checks.
