The good and the bad

Hi peeps

I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. Taking the excellent advice on this website I pretty much started by taking it one day at a time. This does indeed help.

I thought to share the good and the bad and would love to hear anyone else's should they wish to share.

Today I had both a good and a bad moment. I received 2 letters in the post.

The first was from the hosp confirming my op date (my bad moment) cos my stomach dropped and I had that now familiar feeling of anxiousness take hold for a moment but shook it off cos I know it is needed.

The good - my 2nd letter - as if... a tax rebate - boom  . Not half put a much needed smile on my face . Reckon a my treat family meal is in order.

Eeee it's the little things ain't it.

Take care peeps

  • Hi ladies. Hope you're all doing ok. My admiration for those going thru chemo - you got this ladies. You rock.

All this "journey" at whatever stage of it you're at is a step closer to getting rid of that ******* cancer. Keep going and make sure you listen to your body.

I am still battling fatigue and pain - not constant now but I've just resigned myself to the fact that it's gonna stay with me.

Feeling a little down today - woke up with a starT at 3am having a drram that my cancer was back. Got a grip and went back to sleep. Sigh... it is what it is and will be what is meant to be.

Enjoy your day ladies and keep warm - not very warm today.

  • God dreams are awful sent they yes I think tiredness is going be around vlongvtime

  • Bless jbains it always hangs over our heads don’t it. Guess it always did we were just oblivious to it. Back to the whole just deal with the facts and - try not to think ahead... dark thoughts lie that way. Apparently that advice is always relevant no matter where u are in the “journey”.

Hope your day gets better for u sending hugs ️X

  • Morning again

Sorry everyone.  What have I got to complain about...... not going through chemo or radiotherapy at the moment.  Just feel sad for everyone.

  • Hi tigercub

well at least it was one less decision you had to wrestle the pros and cons on.

Hey was it your bday yesterday....,belated happy bday me dear :-) hope u got some nice goodies.

the indignities of treatment nd tests eh. I went for not even considering going topless on holidays to whopping them out at the drop of a hat. Chatting with young radio therapists while the were drawing on me boob....amazing what our new norm is ain’t it.

good luck for today hun. Fingers crossed for good results x

  • Hi Sundial

Don't feel bad I'm sure you been through enough we don't ask for it just have try deal with it all somehow

  • Good morning everyone.

I've only been on the pathway for 4 months and on the whole have mostly good days...but when a bad day comes along don't fight it. Why the heck should we not feel sad or down. No one should have to go through this whether it's a relatively short journey like mine will hopefully be...or a longer more complex treatment journey. Sundial it's ok to feel bad if that's how you feel and I'm sure dizzle and tiger cub would not want you to feel guilty or that your feelings have less validation because you haven't had to do chemo. I admire the ladies that get through chemo....you absolutely rock....but so do you sundial so don't beat yourself up hun xxx

  • Good luck today tigercub. Hope it goes quickly and is the least uncomfortable it possibly can be x
