Hello.  I had papillary thyroid cancer, 26 years ago. Treatments have improved since I had it but I remember that my radio-iodine treatment  was ok.  The worst thing was being radioactive & being in quarantine in a horrible room for a weekend with everything wrapped in plastic & all my plates stacked up! If they still do that, take lots of things to do.  I was very bored.  The other thing I didn't like was having to stiop & start my hormone tablets during the treatments. I stayed on T3, liothyronine, & wouldn't take thyroxine when the treatment stopped because T3, which was meant to be temporary, suited me. I still take it. The treatment was a complete success, it completely wiped out all thyroid tissue .I'm sure yours will be the same.
