Another new chapter. (Meerkat)

Hi forum friends, well, today's news was not as good as expected. The surgeon had removed the two nodules in my right lung and unfortunately, both were cancerous (we had hoped the non growing one was benign!) This news has meant that the non-growing nodule in my left lung, can no longer be assumed to be benign, so next steps are a CT scan and depending on the results, another lung op in the offing! :( (Trying to be positive, but struggling :( - sorry guys!) xx
Parents
  • Hi jo ...... my love, I am sorry to hear your news. I understand the struggling bit so very much and just wish I could say something to make it all go away and put our lives back to some normality.  A huge hug to you my friend x

  • Hi lovely Max, feel ashamed to be 'struggling' when so many others are going through much worse! Will email you lovely lady! Xx
  • I know what you mean but think we are a little entitled to a struggle now and again! Out most of tomorrow (doing lovely things hooray) and will email and tell you all about it.  Take great care of yourself x

  • Hi Jo

Really upset to read your latest news so not surprised you are struggling with it(like Max you are fully entitled and should not berate yourself).Sending huge hugs and kind thoughts to keep you company. Herfe when you want to offload - ANYTIME.  Love Jules x

  • Hi Jules, thanks for your kind words. I felt a bit presumtuous to start this new thread with my user name in the title, but wanted my old buddies to find my latest update (even more presumtuous of me! ;) ) Today's a new day and after yesterday's wobble, it's time to get on with things! My partner's daughter is getting married at the end of March and she would like a wooden signpost making to 'direct' guests to the nuptials! Guess who's got the job? Haha! It's good to have a project - maybe I should ask Brian for some advice! I see you've a busy, mixed day today. Hope you get your internet sorted (for free!) Take care, hugs Jo xx
  • Evening Jo

You are one amazing lady and I will use my favourite word - bouncebackability  should be in your name!  You are so so entitled to have wobbles but its lovely that you have good things to look forward to before facing further surgery (well done doc).  Having your name in the title made it much easier to 'stalk' a good forum buddy.  Hope you have a peaceful evening/week and trust you are still being spoilt and loved to death by Paddy. Take care.  Jules x

Children
  • Hi Jo I'm sorry to read your latest development. Make sure you take time to wallow (we all need that bit!) then you'll feel ready to face the next challenge. We are all with you! Debbie Xx
  • Hi Debbie, lovely to hear from you and thanks for your supportive words. I'm beginning to notice a pattern emerging - receive results - process news - feel down - good night's sleep - dust self off and start over again! :) Maybe I need to hold off for a day before posting my depressive tripe on the forum haha! How are things with you, by the way? I haven't been on Nicola's thread for some time so lost sight of how everyone is getting on (Vatch, Guzzle, Simon, Irene, Nic, Roz dog and you of course! Hope I haven't missed anyone! ) Is it this year that you have your next surgery? Well, the snow is falling here and the dog is chomping at the bit to get out - I swear he's worse than my kids were when they were little! May even venture out myself (what a big kid eh? ) Take care, Debbie and thanks for thinking of me! Hugs, Jo xx
  • Hey Jo, what's the difference between a snowman and snow woman....... Snowballs. Sorry couldn't resist Kathy x
  • Hahahaha Kathy! Here's another one for you - What did one snowman say to the other snowman? "Can you smell carrots?" ;) You've obviously seen the snow the UK is getting! It's beautiful but causing the usual traffic chaos! Enjoy your high temps, lucky lady! xx
  • Hi Jo,

Just wishing you a peaceful and relaxing weekend. Hope you are not snowed in

    Take care, Best wishes, Brian.

  • Good morning Steven and Brian and thanks for the weekend wishes! Earlier in the week, I was lucky enough to win an Afternoon Tea at a local coffee shop, so I'll be taking my daughter there later today (she was the reason I won it, as I had to leave a comment on the coffee shop website about who I'd take and why. I said that my wonderful daughter needed a treat and a break from her Uni studies!) Just hope I can manage the walk as it's extremely icy here today (no more snowfall overnight - just frozen over!) Wishing both of you and your families, a wonderful weekend too! Love Jo xx
  • Hi Jo,

Sorry I missed the fact you have returned to work for I would have wished you well. Take it steady and please dont overdo things. I will be thinking of you, best wishes, Brian.

  • Hi Brian,

Thank you for your kind message - I think my return to work was a rather spontaneous decision so that's probably why you missed to notice it. I had intended to wait until after the half term holiday to return to work, but after seeing the surgeon who assessed me as fit for work (if I wanted to go back!) I thought I'd get back into the swing of it all and then after the holidays, it won't be such a big shock to the system haha!

And the next half term is only 5 weeks - no wonder people think teachers have such a good job!

Well, the signpost is underway! My partner is doing the majority of the work as it's for his daughter, but I'm the chief tea maker and sweeper-upper haha! I'll try and post a photo when it's completed - but I'm having problems with posting on the forum at the moment. Hopefully, this will settle down soon!

Sending hugs to you and Mrs B, Jo xx

  • Good luck in the work house Jo. I admire you returning - but it does keep the mind busy! I have been off line recently as my mum is heaven-bound very very soon x

  • Hi Jo

Well I know why this technophobe missed the latest catch ups on your thread - I had forgotten to press the follow discussion bar. Am finding that getting to the site has been giving some problems for my laptop as I keep getting a message 'this page cannot be displayed even though my connections are currently okay! technology eh!

Hope you have a peaceful week following your return to work (so nice of the surgeon to give you the go ahead). As you said on my thread keeping busy and back into some sort of routine gives more purpose to the day and easing back with a quick break is a good way to do it.  I have another week at work and then have to finish my annual leave up so have two week break (though somehow seem to have lots of odd appointments already fillling my diary (think you call it catching up with life ha ha).

Well best go and get myself sorted out as have children/grandchildren today (plus dog) as its my daughter's birthday today (she was a wonderful Valentine's Day gift 33 years ago) and with my son's 30th next weekend (he will be away) we are having a family day which I guess will be somewhat emotional.

Take care lovely forum buddy and sending hugs  Jules x
