  • Hiya ..... and as always, thank you so much!  Home this evening - cyberknife went fine and so far no problems. Apparently, the radiotherapy carries on working for up to 2wks so I may get some side effects but hopefully I won't.  Saw the oncologist today and not too good news. I should have a 2wks recovery period from chemo after cyberknife but my disease is so obviously advancing quickly that he wants me in next Friday for a new regime.  My liver is large and uncomfortable as are the nodes on my clavicle and in my tummy. The oncologist says he has no idea if I will respond to the chemotherapy but we have just got to wait and see.

I hope everyone is okay and although I know you will say not to worry, I do apologise for not posting more individually just now. Hopefully I will get a little more energy soon. Take care my friends and please know how much you are appreciated x

  • Evening Max,  Well done getting that CK done.and fast.. I reckon that is good to crack on with chemo as soon as poss. With the benefit of the the CK directly slowing down the bit in the brain, then starting that chemo asap will give the other cancer bits a real wallop.

No time for messing about . Wedding to go to.  Dresses to buy. Do we assume this chemo will mess up the hair...? I know some don't .Although I understand the cold cap is pretty damn difficult.  If so what plan are you making for hats, wiggie, headscarves etc to go with your special outfit? You do realise you will risk outshining the bride? But I am sure she won't mind.

I hope you're not experiencing too much pain at preset are you doing the Fentanyl patches +? The one time in your life when you are allowed to cheat the rules of possible addiction. Back in the day they used to have a Bromptom Cocktail which used to include Morphine/ Medical Heroin/ Cocaine and a spirit such as Gin. Most effective...

    best luv sueps

did you get a mask to keep?

I suppose this is the type of message that should be private pm....

  • Hi Max

Glad to see your post and to hear that you are back within the fold of the family following CK. Bringing the new regime of chemo forward  is obviously the  best option for  you and the sooner its started hopefully the sooner it can do something to help and you will have a little time to get used to it before the wedding.  Sending soothing hugs and lots of love your way. Thinking of you. Jules xx

  • Hello Max,

I just wanted to send you a massive, enormous, gigantic moderator hug.

We are all thinking of you at the moment and hope the chemo will go well next Friday.

  • Hi Max,

I was wondering how you had got on with the CK :-)

That sounds far more positive than you had dared hope for a few weeks ago. Good luck with the chemo - and the wedding shopping - not sure which of the two I would prefer to endure!

    Cheers
    Dave

    ;-)
