Ovarian Cancer

Hi,

I was diagnosed with Cancer in March and although we knew it was Cancer its still a shock to be told it. I have had 2  chemo cycles now and have my 3rd at the end of the month. I would love to chat about the chemo side affects to anyone..

  • Congratulations Eileen, you must be so thrilled.Im hoping I will be in the same situation tomorrow as Rhian is being induced tonight

Im glad you are having a break from your treatment. You must be torn between not wanting any more and wanting to get it over with.A visit to see the baby is just the ticket.Feet up while the boys are away, you could even have the TV remote to yourself!!

    Take care gran

Anyone know what happened to Becky (Vermont)?Perhaps she will write soon

  • Hi Eileen,

Glad to hear your baby grand daughter is here, she is a good size bless her, hope your daughter is doing good after the long labour.

I am glad you are getting a break from the chemo Eileen, you certainly need it!!

I do hope you make it so your daughter and new baby!!

    Love to all Dot xxxxxx

  • Thanks Rose for thinking of me, another chemo another step along the way.

I do remember the Thorn Birds, yes, naughty for it's time, nothing compared to what is out there now lol.

Thanks for the link Rose, I will check it out. I have a lovely wig but at the moment don't feel the need to wear it, but my trip tomorrow on the tubes to London might make me want to wear it lol. I shall wait and see how I feel, I think it might be a bit drafty on the stations lol.

    Hope you are well Rose

  • Hi Dot

Just wishing you luck for tom. It's interesting going out without hair! Last time I covered my head (bandana) everyone was more polite/helpful than usual but that was tempered with seeing what they were thinking (thought it was me being sensitive but not so such now) this time went out bald, everyone was more polite and chatty, as in jovial its like they are not sure if its a problem or a fashion statement!!!!

I would advise if you want a seat on the tube go for a scarf otherwise try the bald monk approach!!

    Good luck with the chemo

  • Hi Jackie,

thanks for thinking of me, I am tempted to go out in monk fashion hahaha, not sure if I will yet, depends on if I can get my eye makeup just right lol, at my age I have to put in a lot more effort lol.

Wish it was this time tomorrow night lol.

  • Hi Jackie,

That message made me laugh, I think people are so used to seeing us bald monks now that its not a shock anymore. You still do get that sympathetic look though. I hope your all doing ok with your chemo, and its not taking it out of you. I am getting my strength back every day but not looking forward to having that last chemo. Its such a great feeling to be able to do normal things....

I hope you sort your pension out and get what you deserve... All the other ladies' I hope your ok and Dot you sound like your keeping positive... You look great as well. I am not sure if I am going to Manchester next week as it sounds like a mad house up there so may go up later in year.....I will keep you posted on that on anyway.....

    Love Eileen. ...xxxxxx:love:

  • At last !!12 days late but here.Annabell was born at 7 this morning weighing 8ib 11 oz with a mop of jet black hair.

Hope you are OK Dot and everyone else.

  • Hi everyone,

long day but it is over and really uneventful, two down.........lol

Rose congratulations on the arrival of Annabell, another big baby wow, and hair, that is something my family never have, not sure it is because we are blondes but all our babies are bald lol.

What wonderful news from you and Eileen, two beautiful new babies!!!

Hi to you too Jackie and anyone else I missed.......hope you are all keeping well and strong......!!!

    Love Dot xx

  • Hi Ladies

Congratulations rose! sounds like a nice healthy size!

Dot did you go monk style???? Glad the chemo went ok!

Eileen - just imagine how good you'll feel when you don't have to worry about the next dose! the sooner its done the sooner you can get back to 'normal', 1 more lot of misery for 2 weeks then months/years free, gotta be worth it!

I'm doing ok, mouth still the major problem but seems to be settling so I guess this is going to be 'normal' for the 10 days following each dose! fingers crossed it will be gone by Mon (like last time) then I can have nearly 2 weeks of normal food!

    G;ad everyone doing ok
