Bowel cancer

I have just recently been diagnosed with colorectal cancer ( (just a week ago ) I've yet to find out what stage it's at or if it's spread , all scans done just waiting on results , my first appointment with my oncologist is in 2 weeks time and to say I am absolutely terrified is an understatement , so much so that I'm having panic attacks , all my family and close friends have been amazing and I'm trying to put on a brave face , I just can't let it sink in that I have cancer I'm also googling way too much which isn't helping

I'm so sorry you both have been diagnosed with bowel cancer. It must feel like torture waiting to find out what stage you are on. Remember that you can use this chat any time to let out your thoughts and feelings and talk to each other.

Do you mind sharing how old you are? I'm on a waiting list for suspected bowel cancer but I'm 20 so guessing it's rare at this age.

  • Hi [@amelia98] sorry to hear your news it’s horrible this waiting I’ve got another week yet till results but can’t stop thinking about it , my husband wants to take me away for a few days to take my mind off it as I’ve hardly left the house the last two weeks , overthinking things !! I really hope it’s good news for you as you say you are very young , I’m 55 .
  • Thank you. Of course it is really difficult for you to think about other things. I can imagine it is difficult for your husband aswell so it is great that he is trying to support you.
