Bowel cancer

I have just recently been diagnosed with colorectal cancer ( (just a week ago ) I've yet to find out what stage it's at or if it's spread , all scans done just waiting on results , my first appointment with my oncologist is in 2 weeks time and to say I am absolutely terrified is an understatement , so much so that I'm having panic attacks , all my family and close friends have been amazing and I'm trying to put on a brave face , I just can't let it sink in that I have cancer I'm also googling way too much which isn't helping

    Sorry to hear your news

I'm in the same situation with bowel cancer, I have my appointment on Wedensday to find out the stage of it and what the likley treatment plan will be,

I too have googled everyhting and if i'm being honest I now only look at the NHS site, this site and the macmillan site for informaiton as these sites will give you all of the inforation you need, everything else will just cloud things.

I tried to bottle things up and put on a brave face for, but then when I let my emotions out I actually felt better about myself, it is frightening too as you say.

If you have any questions speak to the colorectal nurses at your hospital, they have been fantastic at answering any questions or concerns I have had. the NHS will do all they can to help us
