Ureter cancer now spread to bladder

Ureter tumour removed July 2021. Follow up chemotherapy from November 2021 to January 2022.

CAT scan clear.

Had check up cystoscopy last week and discovered three tumours in bladder.

Consultant planning to shave these off next week.

Very disappointed with current situation as chemotherapy was based on a successful trial.

Wondering what other surprises could show up in different locations.

  • So pleased he got the treatment and he is ok. Lets hope it goes as smooth next week will he have it on Monday seeing as they changed it this time ?

  • Sorry just realised  I had not posted the reply I typed!

Still ok but headache lasted a little longer than last week The nurse did say the effects of the treatment  could be cumulative

I love the new profile  picture what a whopper Ronnie caught

Love Wilbert x ps sent you a friend request

  • Just as long as things are going according to plan with your john that's good.

Ronnie didn't get his 6th bcg yesterday. He came back from the toilet with a face like fear and anger. He had a bit of blood in the urine and like a peace of dried blood the size of half his finger nail. So no bcg they wouldn't take the chance and we have to go back next week. His head nurse said not to worry it happens to loads of her patients and it would be OK to get the 6th next week. Today his urine is cloudy so i am going to phone his nurse tomorrow if it is the same  and ask if they think he has a urine infection. I still have the antibiotics from 2 week ago but she might say get to the docs for a test. That's easier said than done. Honestly when we got back in the car i could have cried. I was so upset for Ronnie. I said i thought it was too good to be true. Anyway we had a nice 4 days away at yellow tops and he caught some nice big fish. It did us both good to get away from the post man and all the rotten post he brings us. The only thing is we had to come back to reality. So back again next week and the nurse said he should be all clear to have the 6th with him not having it yesterday. Melting away in this heat today. Off for a cold shower. Regards to your John.

    Love from Sylvie xx

  • Hi Celia

I phoned 111 last night and they told me to take him to our walk in center in Selby and to phone his cancer nurse in the morning. So i left a message with the clinic and went to the walk in. He was seen straight away and they took a dip test and he did have a water infection and said to start the antibiotics straight away. So know we are hoping it will have cleared up by Saturday to get his last one. Fingers crossed.

  • Glad you managed to get treatment quickly Hope all cleared by  Saturday Ita such a worry

John was going for a bike ride today but he says his legs feel heavy and he feels lacking in energy He isnt a  great one for hot weather unlike me His appetite  is ok  I worry when he us off his food

I'm going to make sure he drinks plenty of water Ir could br having 2 doses of mitomycin in one week Its ok for them to say its not a problem they are having it

    All the best

  • Poor lad but as long as he is eating that is the main thing. Ronnie has a good apatite so i always know when he is poorly if he says no to his meals. The cancer clinic just phoned to find out what was happening and she said i did the right thing but if the tablets are for 5 days Ronnie might not be able to get the 6th dose on Saturday. The main cancer nurse is off today so they said they will phone tomorrow and let Ronnie know if he should turn up on Saturday or not. I would rather not go than be told not today again. Going all that way does my head in. So we will see what they say tomorrow but the nurse that phoned didn't sound too positive. It never rains but it pours.

    Be back tomorrow

    Love Syvie x
