Advanced Prostate cancer

Hello. I've just found out my husband who is only 52 has advanced prostate cancer. I'm numb. I feel very useless and love him so much.
he became unwell and a ct scan showed it was in his spine and pelvis.
he is now home awaiting start of treatment but it's so slow.
also he is incredibly tired.  He sits or sleeps in bed all day. Is unsteady on feet and easily tired abd although the pain relief is helping I can tell he's in pain still.
is this normal? I read about people who work etc during cancer. He's not well enough to walk 100 yards.

  • Hi it does vary alot with cancer and personal health but hopefully when treatment starts he will feel alot better, I've got advanced prostate cancer that's gone to lymph nodes spine ribs pelvis and a lung,I was still working after diagnosis,(metal fabrication and welding firm),i went into hormone therapy and had some  chemotherapy . I was 64when diagnosed ,My PSA was 1581 stage 4 T3B N1 M1B classed as palative care,I was diagnosed Feb 1216 ,I retired to look after my wife who was diagnosed with Parkinson's and Altzimers

I've had treatment changed now and again to keep cancer count down but managing ok still gardening and housework,

if I can help with any thing please ask, don't forget im a cancer patient not medically trained.
