Hi Karenk,
A very warm welcome to our forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, plus a few false alarms, so I have been through a number of biopsies. All I can say, is that the wait never gets any easier. Most of us would say that this is one of the worst parts of our cancer journey, as thereare so many unknowns and uncertainties.
I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait. Try to keep yourself occupied with other distractions to help the time to pass a little quicker over the weekend.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi just joined this site reading different comments such an agonising wait for results I'm awaiting my appointment to see if my treatment has worked you feel so lonely at this moment hope all works out for you hang on in there my love thoughts are with you
That's really quick so not long to wait. 10mm is small in comparison to mine at 10cm. You are in the hands of experts and no decision can be made until the mammogram and ultrasound and it always has to go through an MDT meeting so all the experts can make a discuss all the results.
as Jolamine said, write down all your questions. I recorded my meetings with the consultant on voice memo as I knew I wouldn't remember anything they said. Have they given you a number to talk to the breast nurse at the hospital?

Hi
A nurse gave me her name and number who is looking after me xx
If you are feeling really worried then call the nurse in the morning. They know how you are feeling and can help to reassure you. I really do send you all my love and support and understand how you are feeling as do the other women on this group. You are not alone, bloody boobs, nothing but trouble. Xxx
Hi June,
Your scans will probably pick these areas up anyway, but no harm in asking, just to make sure.

Hi Jane and thanks for taking the time to write such a full reply. I'm not sure if they plan to remove any lymph nodes- I reckon best to do so if in any doubt. I have two locations s underd suspicion and they are 8 cm apart so Ideead to think they may take a chunk. As I am 67 I was told they don't do reconstruction on NHS over the age of 65 so I'm scared about that. Not sure how I go about even finding out what that would cost me privately. I'll add that to my questions.
Hoping I'll get news this week as to next move.
Im so happy to hear you are ok now and your story has reassured me. Grateful . Sending love and hugs x
Meant to say my biopsy was difficult. They were focussing on two areas in one breast and by the end I had two clips inserted and they must have taken at least 20 X-rays. It was like two separate operations snd it took just over an hour. They were so so good and kind and reassuring it made such a difference .
Thanks Jane,
tried to figure out how to friend you on here. I wanted to ask about private cost for reconstruction as I am 67 and I am told NHS won't do it if over 65.

He said I go in hospital on 1st Oct for another opp
Remove my breast tissue to chest wall and remove nipple
He will cut under breast and move fat into hole and try make a new nipple!
He also removing around 4 lymph node?
He said I will have radiotherapy and medication...but until The pathology look at it...he won't know whether he has clean margin
I have large breast and I am happy with them....After reading it sounds like they will look different xx
I don't know if to ask for mastectomy to be on sage side with implant...he didn't give me an option xx
Hi June,

Hi
I don't know what to think I can't rem it all
Xxx I posted on here to Karen I think
I don't understand...he said I will loose my nipple and all breast tissue to chest wall and around 4 lymph nodes...gotta have it checked for clear margin
He said he will take fat from under the area where a wire is in a bra and luft up into the hole , it will look bad...can I ask for full removal and implant? I go in on Friday next week x 1st Oct xx
HI June,
Your reply to Karen didn't appear until after I had asked how you got on.
I'm sorry to see that you are still up and stressing about this. I don't know what your surgeon's stance is on mastectomy. Most don't want to remove so much tissue if it isn't necessary. Full removal and implant is a more complex operation. I was initially told that the result would be the same wheher I had a lumpectomy or a mastectomy.
You should certainly discuss fulll removal and implant beforehand, so that you are happy that you are having the right surgery for you..
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi
He said the cancer is in and around nipple, so it's a large area being removed and he would take it from underneath. Where the wire of bra is and luft it up into hole xx he still not sure if he will get clear margins x can I ask if they took your lymph nodes...did you have tissue from your body put in?
What treatment did you have or having after lumpectomy? Xxxxx sending love and hugs xx xxx
Hi June
You are going to get through this! And im going to make you laugh because there is a lot of nice nipples tassels on the market these days lol
But seriously my love and thoughts are with you
Big hugs Karen
Haha you need nipples to hang tussles on xxxx xxxxx I am confused...he said lumpectomy......but he removing all breast tissue to chest wall and nipple? Sound more like full removal? Xx
Hugs
June xx
Hi june
Just stick then on no one needs to know whats under them tassels my lovely lol yeah it is all a bit confusing they dont give easy answers thats fof sure, look at me a week past Monday results are clear from what we tested but due to changes we want to double check; did that stereotactic biopsy put another clip in, i spoke to the consultant and i said what do you think it is! She said at the monent its a mystery, i asked the radiologist when she took an xray before the biopsy and she said they think a radial scar, but they told me on the phone when i got my results it wasnt, so a medical mystery just now, I'll find out on Monday when i go to the clinic, i said to the consultant on Thursday so the results for the first biopsies were fine but i needed a more detailed biopsy because it wasnt where you needed to be looking at? And she said yes hence why they have put another clip in!! She said we are hoping worst case scenario its a radial scar but we dont know, so i know where confusion comes from because they said it wasn't a Radial scar! So im still in the dark until i go on Monday.
Hugs Karen xx
