Hi Karenk,
A very warm welcome to our forum. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer in the past 12 years, plus a few false alarms, so I have been through a number of biopsies. All I can say, is that the wait never gets any easier. Most of us would say that this is one of the worst parts of our cancer journey, as thereare so many unknowns and uncertainties.
I am glad to hear that you don't have much longer to wait. Try to keep yourself occupied with other distractions to help the time to pass a little quicker over the weekend.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,

Is it treatable??? Please anyone? X

My heart goes out to you right now

In stage 2 breast cancer, cancer cells have not spread beyond the breast or nearby lymph nodes. Knowing the HR and HER2 status of your stage 2 breast cancer can help your oncologist determine which treatments are most likely to be effective. Stage 2 breast cancer is very treatable and the overall outlook is good.

Hi Roselamilli,
A very warm welcome to our forum.
I'm sure that you're feeling pretty shell-shocked at the moment, but DCIS is about as good as it gets. It is eminently treatable. I was diagnosed with this 12 years ago. I has a second bout the following year and had a double mastectomy and, have never looked back. I still lead a busy and fulfilled life. At the time I was worried for my two teenage children. Since then I have seen them leave school, go to university, graduate, find gainful employment, marry and produce two beautiful granddaughters, who are the light of my life.
Once you have had your MRI they should be able to tell you more about the size of your lump. You have been through a lot recently, but I am glad to hear that you have the support of your sister. We all need someone to confide in with situations such as this. As you know there are no guarantees with cance, but then there's no guarantee when we are crossing the road, yet we don't think twice about that.
It will be a great help to your future if you can remain positive about this. Breast cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer. Yours is in the early stages and, it is treatable. Hold on to these thoughts.
Please keep in touch. We sre always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx

Hi everyone
I am new to this post . So nice to see how much everyone is caring about everyone else .
I found 2 days ago a smoth lump on my upper right breast and I am terrified
I am waiting for my menstrual cycle to start this week and next Thursday I have gp appointment for a check up.
I cannot work I cannot sleep or eat I am only thinking about this ...it is so hard
My husband is so supportive but I have not said anything to the rest of the family..I am so upset and so worried.
Thank you for listening xx
Hi V1234,
A very warm welcome to our forum,
I am sorry to hear about your stress. You do not say what age you are, but there is a possibility that a smooth lump could be something simple like a benign cyst. Having said this, I am not a doctor. Not all lumps are cancerous and those that are are usually craggy at the edges and feel fixed. I sincerely hope that this is just hormonal, but you are doing the right thing by getting it checked out.
Having had 2 bouts of breast cancer myself in the past 12 years, I know just how terrifying the wait can be and our imaginations tend to lead us to all sorts of dark places. I am glad to hear that your hubby is supportive, as this makes all the difference. Mos tpeople don't tell their family until they get a diagnosis, so here's hoping that you won't have to.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi Jolamine,
Thank yous so much for your lovely message. Sorry I missed my age , I am 45 years old .
I am sorry to herar that you had to go through this horrible experience a couple of times in the last 12 years , you are very strong!!
I am very scared and I cannot stop thinking about it but I will definitely keep in touch and let you know what my fate will be next Thursday!
Have a lovely evening

Hi V1234,
We all find the waiting one of the hardest parts of our cancer journeys. I can assure you that I am not strong. I was an emotional mess whilst I was waiting for a diagnosis. I was lucky on one occasion, but drew the short straw on the other two. Still, when it is cancer, we have no choice but to get on with it. Life's too short to let it rule our lives.
I was wondering about your age, because younger people are less liely to develop cancer, although it can hit any one of us at any time. Fortunately, breast cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer these days.
Try to find something to preoccupy your to help the time to pass.
Thinking of you.

Hi Everyone, I hope you all don't mind me gate crashing, I've read through the post and feel like you are all a lovely bunch.
I was diagnosed with invasive grade 3 + Dcis 2 weeks ago, last week they told me it was triple negative so will need chemo. I'm also getting a genetics blood test with the triple neg result and being under 50 (I'm 46).
at the minute I'm waiting on a mri, but the waiting for everything is a killer you mind just goes to places you didn't even know existed!
3 weeks ago I was just getting on with my life, until I got the recall from a yearly mammogram.
Sarah x
HI Sarah,
You are more than welcome to join us. I so am sorry to hear of your diagnosis. Is there a reason for you having yearly mammograms before you reach 50? I know that this is not the news you wanted, but it is treatable. Have you any plans for surgery yet or are you starting with chemo?
I agree that waiting is one of the worst parts of this whole process - we nearly all find this. Our imaginations also play havoc, which doesn't help. It shouldn't be much longer until all of your tests are over and you have a planned route forward. Please keep in touch and let us know how you are getting on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Thanks so much Jolamine,
yes it seems we all struggle with the waits, I was having yearly checks as I'm classed as high risk with a few family members on my fathers side getting breast cancer at a young age.
I'll be glad when things get moving, depending on genetics test it will either be lumpectomy or if positive double mastectomy.

HI Sarah,
It doesn't help when there is a family history of breast cancer. I lost my mum to secondary breast cancer before I was diagnosed. Fortunately, treatment has come along leaps and bounds since then.
I had a lumpectomy first time and a double mastectomy second time around, so am happy to help you if I can.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi Sarahsunshine,
How did you get on with your MRI and have you had your genetics results back yet?
Thinking of you.
