osophagus cancer diagnosis

Hi,

I have recently been diagnosed with oesophagus cancer stage 3 and have come across this forum while googling, since the middle of September, I have had a plethora of tests and have been very well treated by the hospital staff, I’m starting my FLOT treatment in 9 days’ time a regime of 4 rounds 2 weeks apart then hopefully followed by surgery and then another FLOT regime.

  • Not flot this time its filfax or something I have thing connected to my picc line for  48 hrs bloody awkward

  • I am having different chemo this time and have thing connected to picc line fir 48 hrs bloody awkward

  • Oh hell 24 is bad enough sorry bud. I was confused cos I didn't think you'd be on FLOT after what you've said and stuff but it's the only temp pump I know (so far)

  • Hi I had flot 6 years ago and had 6 good years . Unfortunately in msrch I was addmitted into hospitsl and after a ct scan and mri scan they found I had an inflamed pancreaus and the cancer had returned this time aggressive and non curable . I am undergoing immunnotherapy trials and chemotherapy hopefully will give me a chance to live longer than 18 months and a better quality of life as well the immunotherapy is ok but chemo is yuk

  • Just be posititve and cancer ca f##k off big time its hard I know . Aldo if you want to have a cry go for it . I have my family close by to support me which is nice . Stay strong

  • This time I am on a different chemo gives me the upset stomavk and po#s plus flaking skin extremely tiredness . I take lopomarade pills for p##os and just chill on sofa fed up with tv though got appointment tomorrow for picc line dressing change

  • Strangely I seem to be mostly handling it Ok (NOW bit of a mess back when they first confirmed it after my biopsy.)  My biggest issue was slime (I knew it was vomiting cos all my drinks stayed down and my poor tummy couldn't work out what was happening while I was retching for Britain LOL) and incredible wind. Finally got both under control yesterday I think. Cycle 2 is Tuesday. But today I feel pretty good so hope I'm as positive next week. My family are awesome too but it's taking one hell of a toll on my poor hubby. He already has SEVERE mental health, he's driven me mad because his brain was so full of watching me suffer there wasn't any room for common sense or observation etc....but I got good news for him when he wakes up. I had some chicken in white sauce today and my tummy has stopped saying it's ALWAYS hungry my saliva buds have finally started working so I can taste again AND I've put a pound on since he last saw me!! (Sounds mad but I can bounce pretty quick sometimes now just got to keep improving ready for round2!!
