Hi Dave. 

Thares a few prostate gents on here such as [@woodworm]‍, Brian he had same as you quite a few years ago, then [@telemando]‍, he had his out and me living with my uninvited guest on permanent hormone therapy and cemotherapy when neaded. Mine went to lymph nodes, spine, ribs, pelvis and a lung.

Hi Dave,

Last June (2019) just before my 65^th birthday I was offered a well-man check at my doctors, which I gladly took. The next day I got called back in to say my PSA was 19. After a physical examination and a biopsy, it was as expected, prostate cancer.  Let us be clear here, I had no symptoms of prostate cancer what-so-ever. After an MRI scan, it was shown that the cancer had come out of the prostate into a lymph node, so no removal. Due to an existing medical condition radiotherapy was a no go, so 6 cycles of chemotherapy over the next 18 weeks followed.

Upon completion of the chemo I had a CT scan, which showed that the chemotherapy had really done its job and my PSA had fallen to 0.33.
Unfortunately the scan also picked up something on my lung! Cancer. Again, no symptoms. After a PET scan it was decided that I would have lobectomy and a wedge on my left lung. Speaking to the surgeon I asked what if I did not have the op? The answer was, I doubt I be able to speak to you next year! I had the operation at the end of this August and yesterday I had an appointment with the oncologist. I start 4 cycles of chemotherapy next Friday.

So yes, I agree with Dave, if you are over 50 get an PSA done at you doctors on a yearly basis.
Had I have not of taken up the offer of the well-man check…who knows what would be!!!
